04-10-04, 09:12 PM two question on DR.

1) some creatures for example vampire's DR has two things it is effected by, silver and mgic, so do i need either silver OR magic or do i need a weapon that is both silver AND magic?

2) why are celestial creatures (and other things like rightous might's) DR/evil? shouldn't their dr protect them form evil?

2) Because evil things are opposed to good things, hence they hurt good things. It's like, why doesn't a frost wyrm get hurt by a freezing weapon? Because they're made of identical magical energy.

If it says "silver or magic" then it means silver OR magic (or both).

Some creatures work this way and have a sort of progression. For example say you had a weak vampire creature. It would have DR /silver OR magic. Then you would have a medium powered vampire that would have DR /magic. Then the strongest kind would be DR /silver AND magic.
