| RLRapp09-20-06, 09:49 PM | You might try the Evolved Undead template from Liber Mortis instead. |
| Slad Chaos09-23-06, 05:24 PM | why do you speak about the evolved undead template ? |
| Shemeska the Marauder09-24-06, 12:07 AM | By the RAW, no they can't. But the RAW have caveats in which breaking them makes sense in specific instances, like this one. I can see it making sense for a dragon seeking to become a divine servitor of Falazure the Night Dragon (draconic deity of undeath) or Null (an aspect of Falazure worshipped on some worlds). |
| runestar09-24-06, 03:09 AM | There have been cases of fluff overriding the rules, such as how the dodkong is a giant sorc lich(despite the fact it only has 10 sorc lvs and the lich template cannot be applied to giants), so I would chime in with Shemeska and say just go ahead with it if it suits your campaign. Plus, the notion seems quite cool.:) |
| Derren S.09-24-06, 03:16 AM | I can see it making sense for a dragon seeking to become a divine servitor of Falazure the Night Dragon (draconic deity of undeath) or Null (an aspect of Falazure worshipped on some worlds). Except that Dragon Ascendants have nothing to do with "becoming a divine servitor". |
| runestar09-24-06, 03:33 AM | Except that Dragon Ascendants have nothing to do with "becoming a divine servitor". Neither did Tzacchar, but look at what happened to him in the end...:( |
| Derren S.09-24-06, 08:03 AM | Neither did Tzacchar, but look at what happened to him in the end...:( Tzacchar didn't wanted to become a servitor but a deity and he succeeded. The goal of Dragon Ascendants is it to become a deity, not to become a servitor of one. There are other PRCs for that. |
| Shemeska the Marauder09-24-06, 10:56 AM | Except that Dragon Ascendants have nothing to do with "becoming a divine servitor". I never said that it did. Just that while the PrC normally excluded dracoliches, I could easily see allowing it anyway for dracoliches who might desire to become a proxy of a draconic deity of undeath such as Falazure or Null. I was making a specific exception to the norm, not a blanket statement. |
| Derren S.09-25-06, 02:05 AM | But why would the Dracolichs take Dragon Ascendant levels to become a servitor of Falzure when there are so much better fitting PRCs for that? Only so you can construct a semi logical case where one might allow that? |
| Shemeska the Marauder09-25-06, 02:12 AM | But why would the Dracolichs take Dragon Ascendant levels to become a servitor of Falzure when there are so much better fitting PRCs for that? Because they don't have gamebooks with which to metagame and pick and choose PrCs from? |
| Terraneaux09-25-06, 11:01 AM | How about, a dracolich decides he's *so* cool, that he wants to become a deity himself. That's really what we're talking about here, right? Because if he wanted to take levels in Divine Agent or something he could already do that.... |
