I haven't had a chance to look through this book yet (though another player in my group plans on purchasing it and I'll get to use it then) so I'm not entirely certain but I believe this book contains new rules about creating a dracolich.

I have the 3rd Edition Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, which is the original 3rd Edition source on creation rules for these undead dragons.

I was wondering is someone wouldn't mind sharing the changes between new and old dracolich creation?

If you don't have the FRCS to compare I could post the old creation info here, though, I'd rather not.

Hey Dok,

I took a few minutes to compare the entry for the Dracolich in both the FRCS and the Draconomicon.

Aside from the necessary changes for 3.5 (DR is 5/Bludgeoning and Level Adjustment is +4) the Dracolich info is a virtual cut and paste job.

The only other bit that is lacking in the Draconomicon is that there's no setting specific information contained within (i.e. Sammaster or his Cult of the Dragon).

Note that the Draconomicon lists both the Dracolich Potion and Phylactry as magical items in the Magic Item section of that book.

Feel free to post any other questions on the book and I'll try and get to them.

ps: I'm going to re-do Ashardalon (from WotC's adventure path series) via this book. I'm hoping for a TPW!

I was interested because I'm going to be creating a half-dragon (black) 5th level monk dracolich as a Cult special weapon in my Dalesworn campaign.

Thanks for the offer, but it looks like my helpful player is going to be picking a copy tommorow before the session, so I'll get to take a nice look at it also.
