| Berwick02-08-06, 12:25 AM | Hello All! In the MM I (3.5), it says (paraphrasing) that a dragon, among other things, is immune to paralysis effects. To quote the SRD: Immunities (Ex): All dragons have immunity to sleep and paralysis effects. So, does this apply to physical effects? or magical? or both? My question comes from a situation where a PC cast Hold Monster on the Wyrmling Dragon.... Wondering if this immunity applies to the spell? Thanks in advance, Berwick |

A dragon is immune to the effects of sleep as well as alchemical knockout gas, so long as said gas produces a sleep or paralysis effect. Hold Monster produces a paralysis effect. Its spell description says, "The subject becomes paralyzed and freezes in place." Dragons cannot be paralyzed by magic or any other means, so the spell fails to inflict hold on the dragon. |
