Draconium to be or not to be [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-21-04, 11:07 PM Sorry if this has been asked but is the draconium worth the money? I am looking for a way to revitalize my campaign and perhaps play the new rage setting for forgotten realms. I am living on a student budget and havnt gotten a new book in a while, so how does this stack up against the necromancery book or the Black sun campaign setting or the new psionics handbook

11-21-04, 11:18 PM If you're a big fan of dragons, then its a very good buy. It has really good ideas on running dragon encounters and the different roles a dragon might play in your world. The first chapter is basically a college-level course in dragons. Overall, I think its a very good buy. The other monster books (Libris Mortem and the upcoming Codex Anathema), might be equally good buys if those are some of the major opponents your players might face.

11-21-04, 11:35 PM IMO, if you are on a tight, student budget, the books that I'd recommend you to get would be either Draconomicon or Frostburn. Both excellent books with a tight, narrow focus that is thoroughly explored.

Draconomicon is an excellent book... if you like to use dragons. Even if you don't, reading the book will probably make you want to run dragons more. ;)

I highly recommend Draconomicon, it is, by far, my favorite 3.x book.
