It seems to me that many abilities in the book are balanced when used against might foes against dragons but against non-dragons they are very powerfull and possibly unbalanced.

I mean thinks like Lower Spell Resistance (The penalty to the save), Sense Weakness (One feat and bypass 5! points, thats 1/3 or 1/2 of the DR) and Find the Gap (A dream for spring attack rogues. Thats why you have UMD).

So ban the spells. I baned both for balance reasons. The first thing to do when you grab a splat book is go through the spell section with a fine tooth comb and ban stuff which strikes you as unbalanced BEFORE the players have a chance to grab it. This might mean baning a few balanced spells but its far better not to have a balanced spell in the game than to allow a broken one in. Then repeat with feats and PrCs.

Of course you can always change the target line of a spell to read "one dragon" instead of "one being" or whatever it says for Lower Resistance. Similarly you can limit the viable targets on which certain feats can be used.
