Dragon ability [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-25-05, 09:27 PM Do dragons have alternate form? I was looking on the SRD and couldn't find it. Is it copyrighted? Do they not have it? Am I being and idiot and missing it? Do they and if so what are the specifics?

05-25-05, 10:50 PM Dragons of particular breeds have alternate form. Specifically: Golds, Silvers, and Bronze all have alternate forms.

05-28-05, 01:39 AM Gold and silver dragons have it from birth 3/day, bronze acquire it at young age (3/day), mercury dragons (Monster Mayhem archives) acquire it as an adult 3/day, steel dragons (Monster Mayhem) have it from birth 5/day (although the article uses the term polymorph instead), and topaz dragons (Monster Manual II) can use the psionic equivalent, shapechange (which I updated to its 3.5 name greater metamorphosis) at great wyrm age 3/day.

In Dragon 321, the adamantine dragon acquires alternate form at an adult age (3/day), the arboreal dragon of Arborea can assume animal, fey, or humanoid form at a young age 3/day, while the beast dragon of the Beastlands can assume animal or magical beast form from juvenile age onward 3/day.

The first three dragons are in the SRD (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35) and are Open Game Content. All the others are not.
