Elexsor 05-27-04, 02:07 PM	Hey I had a question about dragon blindsight. My buddies and I were playing a campaign yesterday and we encountered a red dragon. While fighting the dragon on guy cast a mirror image of himself. Question: Does the dragon fall for the mirror image? Or does the dragons blindsight mean that it just ignores the image? I don't have my draconomicon on me so I don't have the direct entry of what blindsight says. However it says that I dragon senses things that are present... using sight, hearing, air disturbance, etc.. So would a dragon just ignore the mirror image?
Moonstonedragon 05-27-04, 07:19 PM	Id say no, dragons blind sight is a mixture of "seeing heat" "tasting the air" and so on and so on. But the mirrion images dont produces those effects Basically see it like this "If the dragon closes his eyes, will it still effect him?" In this case the answer is no
Elexsor 05-29-04, 10:02 AM	Wow. So dragons essentially don't fall for any illusory spell. Multiple self, blur, etc.. Nor can you hide from a dragon. It always knows exactly where you are. No sneaking up on the dragon. Man..that sucks. :sad: Ok then new question: What is the range on dragon blindsight then? Does it go around corners?

Elexsor 05-31-04, 12:47 PM	Ok I was looking into it :whatsthis: and in version 3.0 MM dragons have blindsight however in version 3.5 MM dragons have blindsense. That is a step down for the mighty dragon. :eek: :teach: Blindsight would allow them to fight an invisible person without the penalty. Blindsense however allows them to still locate the person but since they cannot actually see the individual then they suffer the penalties. Blindsense would allow a dragon to not fall for an illusion as does blindsight. :banghead: However I still am up for grabs about Blur. I believe that Blur would still affect the dragon based on the previous statements. As in the description of blur at the bottom it say "Opponents that cannot see the subject ignore the spells effects (though fighting an unseen opponent carrier penalties of its own...)" The dragon could close its eyes but then would suffer penalties of fighting an unseen opponent even though the dragon would still be able to locate you. So dragon would still have 20% chance of failure. :confused:
Khaibit_Ema_Neteru 06-01-04, 12:23 AM	yep. Blur is still effective. Because the dragon is better off trusting his eyes, and going with the lesser miss chance (20%). Dragons are not IMPOSSIBLE to hide yourself from. Just really hard.
