| Darth Sephiroth11-17-05, 08:42 PM | How would one make a hybrid of two true dragon types? Like a Blue and a Silver or something of that type? |
| obrysii11-17-05, 09:38 PM | As asked and answered a hundred times over: Apply the Half-Dragon template to a dragon to make it a crossbreed. Look through the Monster boards, you'll find dozens of similar threads that have every bit of info you need. |
| rampant11-18-05, 04:46 AM | its the fuggin breath weapon people don't like the once a day 6d8 smae size no matter the size of the dragon breath weapon maybe some modification there maybe like the breath weapon uses the base dragon (mother's type) damage size and such but is now a dual element blast, and chalk the rest up to hybrid vigor what do you think? |
| warlockco11-18-05, 06:59 AM | Well the way a Hybrid was done in 2E was the breath weapon was a mix of both types. And the color was a mix also. Of the different Dragon types, the Chromatics were more likely to mix their gene pool, while the Metallics tended to be more pure blooded. Best reference for this would be the 2nd Edition version of the Draconomicon. For example if Blue and Red mated. The offspring would take ofter either the Red or the Blue with the color being more purplish than Red or Blue, so a Purple Dragon. If the offspring took after the Red, then the Breath Weapon would be an Electrically Charged Cone of Fire (half fire and half electricity). If the offspring took after the Blue, then the Breath Weapon would a Fiery Line of Lightning (half fire and half electricity). Then there is the Pink Dragon, a Red and White hybrid, very rare. Its breath weapon would be a Cone of Burning Ice, talk about strangeness :D . Plus back in those rules, the offspring had the Elemental Immunities of Both Parents. So a Purple Dragon would be Immune to Electricity and Fire, while the Pink Dragon would be Immune to Cold and Fire. |

| savant_warlord1311-18-05, 03:12 PM | how about a thin cone for line/cone dragon hybrids? it would be 45 degrees instead of 90 degrees and 50% longer than the cone would be |
| Rickiel11-18-05, 03:28 PM | Somehow...I'm reminded of Disney's the Sword in the Stone. And now...a quote from Mad Madame Mim. "Rule Three, no make belive things like...pink dragons!!!" Later... "DID I SAY NO PURPLE DRAGONS? DID I?!?!?!?!!!!!" |
