| gradea03-18-04, 03:57 AM | After a quick look through the list of draconic prestige classes, i noticed only three added to caster level, and those all added to divine caster level, not arcane. Are there any classes out there for a dragon sorcerer or wizard? Besides the normal character classes, i mean dragon specific ones. |

| whiteflame03-23-04, 12:15 AM | I thought the same thing when I read through the book. I would make a PrC but Im not very good and I dont even have a good idea for one. :( |
| canamrock03-23-04, 04:08 AM | There do not seem to be many. Since they gain caster levels in the middle ages, the eventually qualify for normal arcane caster PrC's well enough. However, one could steal a page from the 2E Council of Wyrms setting to make a 'template class' that sacrifices some of the dragon's physical prowess for earlier and quicker progression in the arcane arts. The Q&D method to do this is to simply chop the BAB and HD values to +3/4 and d8's to increase the casting capacity by about an extra level per age category. A more radical change would be a significant project, and not just because it would differ not only by dragon type, but also by the age categories it can take effect. |
| gradea03-23-04, 04:24 PM | screwing with HD and BAB is diffrent in 3rd then it was in 2nd, and it wouldnt be a class it would be a template. but, screw it, im making a class, using the class creation tables provided by our friends at shadowcraft studios. ahem, anyways, on a break down the prc classes of the dragons seem to have around 200 something points to throw around, lets say this class will have 230. 44 goes into spell slots. if we stay with the true wizard fasion of lower HD and make it say, d4, it only eats up 10 points giving them 4 skill points a level is 30, and giving them 20 class skills is 20 points a wizards BAB is 10 points two good saves, 25 points ok so thats 139, leaving us with 91 points to use on special abilities. can anyone think of some good, purely spell enhancement related ones? |
| Legend6703-27-04, 11:06 AM | As far as the creation tables go, I've never even seen them so I'm not sure what the point values of these things are, but here's a few of my ideas: -If I was making a Dragon Mage prestige, the character would have to pick a type of Dragon. Then they would be able to get bonuses casting elemental spells of the type of the dragon. They would also be able to cast those elemental spells as breath weapons. -For purely fun, role-playing purposes, all their spells would have to be completely dragon-themed. They would manifest in something dragon-related, i.e. a fireball looking like a hatching dragon egg, elementals look faintly draconic, etc. etc. etc. -Some sort of dominance(sp?) over reptilians would be included, but perhaps that's just me... These are just my spur of the moment thoughts. I'll tell ya what, though, I'm going to type this one up and post it here when it's finished... |
| gradea03-28-04, 03:56 AM | legend, thats basicly an elementalist dragon prc and the spell shaping feat (the one that changes visual effects, not the area one)... |
| SpellMaster03-30-04, 02:17 AM | While they are almost not even arguably overpowered, the two Dragon Mages in my sig are some of my own creations that fit your bill perfectly. Just toy with them as needed. |
