I was thinking...would it make sense to treat all potions with variable effects that enter a dragon's system as Maximized? I see this as their super-efficient digestive systems doing a better job of metabolizing the magic in the potion.

A potion is just a vessel of a spell. The fluid itself has no magical properties of iself.
So unless every spell casted on a dragon is maximized I see no reason to make potions maximized.

agreed.

on a slightly different plut though, the dragon doesn't have to unstopper the potion, they can just toss the whole vial in their mouths...

Gee, now I think there should be a feat for a dragon with swallow whole and quick draw that lets it drink potions as a swift action. :)

I personally like the idea of a dragon having massive kegs of potion.. Can imagine the state of things if a errant band of PC's attacks a black dragon halfway through brewing his favourite water-tower sized keg/bottle of healing potion.

Dragon: *******ed swamp bugs! *Grabs for bottle*
PC's: AIYEEE! *SPLAT*

Kinda like the same idea with scrolls and spellbooks sized for a large dragon. Nothing can be as humiliating as being smacked off your charger with a large scroll like a housefly. *THWAP* :D
