ewancummins 06-26-07, 12:15 AM	There are a lot of dragon species in the books. My new campaign world will have more than one type, but NOT all of them. I'm thinking no more than ten species of true dragons, if even that many. I'm interested in what you guys think. Which dragons would make the cut if you could only pick ten species?
RavinRay 06-26-07, 07:52 AM	Lung dragon; a t'ien lung ideally. Lung dragons are rarely used. Fang dragon. The lack of a breath weapon should make it interesting to use. Rattelyr. Flightless, has a special form of spell resistance, and that annoying rattle can really upset opponents' Concentration checks. Orange dragon. A different kind of chromatic dragon, with a unique breath weapon. Arboreal dragon. Stuck in the Material Plane, it should still pack a punch and serve as good stand-in for a faerie dragon. Chole dragon. Very unpredicable, the draconic incarnation of the chaos and evil of the Abyss, those tentacles attacks are something to beware of. Prismatic dragon. Epic. Nuff said. Mercury dragon. Somewhat manic, it makes for a different metallic. Concordant dragon. To serve the cause of neutrality and balance. Incarnum dragon. If you're using incarnum. If not, the magically powerful tome dragon. Or if using psionics, the neutral amethyst dragon.

Mind you, these are not a mix of White and Red dragons, even if they're often mistaken for such a mix. No, it's even worse, they breathe corrosive soap. They are the classic evil underdogs, angry that everyone would rather pet them than fear them. Just like this Yorkshire doggy who seems to be able to eat a bull for dinner and another one for supper.
ewancummins 06-26-07, 10:35 PM	I always thought the pink dragon was cute. April Fools issues of Dragon were pretty funny. The lung dragons are cool. I've got the 3.0 Oriental Adventures book. It has the stats, and converting them to 3.5 should be easy. I am also partial to the mist and cloud dragons[ from 1E MM2, not sure if they've made it into 3E yet]. They are a bit like lung dragons, I suppose. I like shadow dragons. Nasty. I'd put them in the Shadowlands/Plane of Shadow, rather than the Prime Plane. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking up the various dragons you guys suggested. If anyone else has others to add, please do.
ank 06-28-07, 01:45 PM	1) Gold 2) Silver 3) Bronze 4) Red 5) Black 6) Blue I'd say keep these dragon because they represent the most "iconic" metalic and chromatic dragons and they inhabit three diverse locals, providing a good and evil variety for each. 7) Fang Dragon 8) Lung Dragon (for exotics and nuetrality) 9) Shadow Dragon (no logical arguement, they're just cool) 10) Gem Dragon (nuetrality)
