A disgusting Beholder floats in front of you. Its mouth is elongated like a crocodiles, and its scales are bumpy and spiny. Its massive reptilian eye stares at you unblinking, and where the rest of its eyes should be is a collection of small draconic heads.

Dragonbreath Beholders are believed to be the product of an unusual Beholderkin experiment, either that or a dragon mating that went horribly wrong. Dragonbreath Beholders look like dark skinned beholders with elongated toothy maws and a single reptilian eye. However instead of have 10 eyestalks, they have long serpentine tentacles that end with the heads of the chromatic and metallic dragons. These heads however are not like the majestic featured faces of true dragons, but rather like half-formed fetal dragon heads with no nostrils and tiny beady-black eyes. The heads themselves are brainless but the Beholder itself isn't, far from it. They still retain the Beholders intellect, and instead of eyestalks they have breath weaopons. Dragonbreath Beholders speak Common, Beholder and Draconic.

COMBAT
Dragonbreath Beholders fight like normal Beholder, plowing right into the thick of battle. However this particular subrace of Beholders enjoys tearing into opponents flesh with its fangs.
Breath Weapons (Su): Each of the Dragonbreath Beholders ten draconic head stalks can produce 1d4 breath weapon once per round, even when the Dragonbreath Beholder is attacking physically or moving at full speed. See page 24 of the Monster Manual. Such breath weapons allow a Reflex save for half damage (DC 20). Lines have a 60 ft. range, and cones have a 30 ft. range and are 10 ft. wide. Their 10 breath weapons include.
Line of Acid: Dealing 10d4 damage.
Line of Lightning: Dealing 8d8 damage.
Cone of Gas: Dealing 8d6 damage.
Cone of Fire: Dealing 6d10 damage.
Cone of Cold: Dealing 5d6 damage.
Cone of Sleep: Will save (21) or fall asleep.
Cone of Repulsion: Will save (20) or be compelled to move away from the Dragonbreath Beholder.
Cone of Slow: Fortitude save (21) or become slowed down for 1d6 rounds.
Cone of Weakening: Fortitude save (20) or take 1 point of temporary strength damage.
Cone of Paralyzation: Fortitude save (21) or become paralyzed for 1d6 rounds.
All-around vision (Ex): Dragonbreath Beholders are exceptionally alert and circumspect. Their many eyes grant them a +4 racial bonus on Spot and Search checks, and they cant be flanked.
Antimagic cone (Ex): See page 25 of the Monster Manual.
Flight (Ex): The Dragonbreath Beholders body is naturally bouyant. This buoyancy allows it to fly as the spell, as a free action, at 20 feet per round. This buoyancy also grants it a permanant feather fall affect.

I must give Credit to Tenzhi for giving me the idea for this beast over on the Tuaric Race Foundation. Cheers pal!... :behold:

I'd personally bump it up to Huge. (Though, I suppose a case could be made for age categories and size increases - but that would be an insane amount of work.)

And I might be inclined to give credit to the person whose warped imagination spawned the vile beast. ;)

Incidentally, didn't they change a Beholder's flight to (Ex)?

Yup, a normal beholder's fight is (Ex).
This is one very scary monster, well done!
Just one thing though, it says it has 0 bite attacks under full attack. Is that supposed to be 10?

Thanks for pointing those out, but like normal Beholders it only has one bite attack.

A few things: How big are the cones, and how long are the lines? Why are the saves against the cones of sleep, slow, and paralyzation higher? Does the cone of gas do acid damage like green dragon breath does? If so, you should say so right there.

Is CR 15 really high enough?

Also:

"Each of the Dragonbreath Beholders ten draconic head stalks can produce 1d4 breath weapon once per round"

Should that read:

"Each of the Dragonbreath Beholder's ten draconic head-stalks can produce a breath weapon once per 1d4 rounds"?

Because producing 1d4 breath weapon once per round just doesn't make sense.

I'd give it some of the dragon traits too, like paralysis and sleep immunity, and maybe resistances to some of its more prominent breath weapon types, like acid resistance 15, Fire resistance 10, cold and electric resistance 5, maybe even some DR and SR.

Having said that, cool!

Because producing 1d4 breath weapon once per round just doesn't make sense. Or maybe: "The Dragonbreath Beholder's ten draconic head-stalks can produce 1d4 breath weapons every round. No breath weapon may be used on two consecutive rounds."?
