For those of you familiar with the rather excellent DragonMech DnD setting from Goodman Games, what follows will make tremendous sense. If not, what is to follow will just confuse you needlessly. Go to the Goodman Games website for more information on the setting of Highpoint, its monstrous city-mechs, and the horrendous lunar rain.

Many are the monsters that came down from the disintigrating moon, making new homes in the terrestrial sphere of Highpoint, ravaging the land as they go. Ygapmpos, lunar giants, lunar dragons, and even the deadly antfolk are but a few of the races that have come to claim Highpoint for themselves.

The antfolk are a race of humanoids, Fine in size, that resemble humanlike pale white ants. They cannot fly, merely swarming along the ground. Antfolk have the Swarm and Lunar subtypes, and operate as one unit. They pray to Azathothinorfizar, lunar god of swarms and gluttony, and indeed, antfolk culture is devoted to eating and battle (with the express purpose of eating their fallen foes).

The antfolk obsession with eating is so extreme that whenever individual antfolk are wounded, they are eaten by others in their swarm. They NEVER stop eating, for a swarm is to stop eating spells certain demise: Antfolk MUST eat 24/7, or else they will starve to death.

Luckily, this extreme gluttony has its benefits. Antfolk can eat virtually anything non-magical, be it living things, carrion, or even rocks. Furthermore, for every dead creature they eat, the swarm grows in number, as the antfolk females lay two eggs for each carcass they devour. Furthermore, for each still-living creature they eat, they gain a Burrow move speed that lasts for one hour per HD of the creature consumed.

--stats for the antfolk will be posted in but a moment NB

DESCRIPTION
The lunar antfolk are a race of pests from the moon, that have become a true menace on Highpoint. Worshippers of the lunar god of gluttony (named Azathothinofirzar, He-who-makes-the-swarm-fly), they march as one tiny army, consuming everything in their path.
COMBAT
Lunar antfolk are not fearsome by themselves; rather, it is when more than one swarm merges up, and utilizes the fearsome feats that only lunar antfolk can gain, that they become truly horrid and dreaded.

--next, I'll stat up the antfolk as a PC race, using Savage Species NB

A note about the antfolk's racial skill bonuses: These things are HUNGRY, perpetually hungry. To stop eating is the same to them as to stop living. As a result, they have gotten very, very good at bypassing locks, traps, and other obstacles to getting to the food they need so badly.

--and like all ants, they can climb well, too NB
