Dragons and CR [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-05-07, 10:32 PM I've heard here and there that dragons are unusually strong for their CR, and I have the following questions:

1. Does this apply to only the true dragons or are dragons in general like this?
2. How much higher would a dragon's effective CR be?

2) Probably by +1. But it is also partially because they possess many abilities which can be devastating if synergized together properly.

But it is also partially because they possess many abilities which can be devastating if synergized together properly.I agree with runestar's assessment, but would say that the CR adjustment is about 1/2 of a dragon's age category (1-12), depending on how optimized the dragon's feat, spell and tactical choices are.
