| kadeity02-08-07, 11:56 PM | Im working on a list of variants for the Dragon Shaman... the idea is that the dragon shaman can choose any dragon as a totem dragon. Anyway, im wondering what ive missed. Ive got the Incarnum Dragon, the Planar dragons, the Gem dragons and the Monsters of Faerun Dragons. heres the thread if your curious. http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=11433551#post11433551 |
| Angelflesh02-09-07, 12:47 AM | These dragons aren't WOTC, they are from a Legends & Lairs book and are 3.0. Anyways, they all have the age categories and i think some of them are awesome. Dragons Bile Wyrm - A serpentine dragon with acrid saliva Cavern Dragon - A pale white dragon adapted to living underground in pitch black. Chthonian Dragon - Chthulu anyone? Diamondback Dragon - A long, slender dragon with diamond-shape scales. Dire Dragon - What do you think it is? Entropic Dragon - A dragon capable of aging creatures with it's breath weapon. Molten Dragon - I think it's self explanatory. Oceanic Dragon - Undisputed masters of the sea. Reef Dragon - He hangs by the reef. Rift Dragon - A dragon of fire and ice. Rot Dragon - An undead dragon with age categories! Vermin Dragon - An insectoid dragon with vermin and dragon traits. Wild Dragon - Guardians of the forest. Wooly Dragon - What the hairy!? |
| kadeity02-09-07, 12:56 AM | im gonna be sure i cover all the WOTC dragons before i even consider covering the 3rd party ones. Do you know where a Steel Dragon is from? |
| Angelflesh02-09-07, 12:59 AM | That would be Dragons of Faerun. |
| Morwen02-09-07, 01:54 AM | You're missing the following true Dragons from WotC 3.0/3.5 sourcebooks: Epic Level Handbook (Force Dragon, Prismatic Dragon) Oriental Adventures (Lung Dragons [8 variants]) Dragons of Faerūn (Mercury Dragon, Mist Dragon, Steel Dragon) Sandstorm (Sand Dragon) |
| 42002-09-07, 02:12 AM | Even though it wasn't given specific age categories I think the Hellfire Wyrm (MM II pg. 125) should be considered a true dragon. Someone posted here awhile back with plans to give the Hellfire Wyrm age category stats. -420 |
| RavinRay02-10-07, 07:17 AM | Well, my Dracodex has a list of all official true dragons. The "hellfire wyrm as a true dragon" idea was suggested independently in the past, including by myself. I based it on a Dragon magazine cover by Todd Lockwood that depicted a dragon that looked suspiciously like the hellfire wyrm but was labelled a hellfire dragon. I speculate that it was originally meant to be a true dragon, the native dragon of Baator, only that planar dragons weren't conceptualized the way they are now. But the hellfire wyrm can be re-written to be a true dragon. There is precedent for this. In Monsters of Faerūn, the phaerimm was given only a single age category; in the Players Guide to Faerūn MoF update, it had 6 (IIRC) age categories. |
| Angelflesh02-10-07, 12:47 PM | Did you get the Hex Dragon and Tome Dragon from a recent Dragon mag? |
| Ithshunter02-10-07, 05:46 PM | sorry. |
| RavinRay02-11-07, 12:39 AM | Yup, I snagged a copy of Dragon 343 with the arcane dragons from my FLGS. |
| ShadowWarrior02-20-07, 05:14 PM | There are also Astral, Chole, Elysian, and Gloom dragons in Dragon #344. They're planar dragons (like you couldn't tell :P). |
