Using the Draconomicon's rules for PC dragons I am going to run a dragon based game, essentially starting them all as hatchlings and launching them into a harrowing adventure centered around the rivalry between Bahamut and Tiamat (Cliche I know...) First off I intend to take this game into epic levels, since lets face it a wyrmling Gold Dragon has a ECL of 12 fresh out of the egg. The main problem I am finding so far as taking this into epic levels is that every dragon's Level Adjustment caps at +6, which puts many of them at a ECL of 18-20. How do I find Level Adjustments past +6 for the higher age catagories, such as young adult or so on? My final question is that all dragons at some point gain access to Sorcerer spells, as if they were a caster some 5-8 levels lower then their CR. I understand all that, but what if said dragon had a few levels in the class Sorcerer, do they stack? I mean if I have a juvenile Silver Dragon with 3 levels in sorcerer, is he then considered a 6th level sorcerer(3 for the class levels, and 3 for the levels granted by the age catagory)? |

| Saberus09-15-06, 03:34 AM | must conquer the dreaded Great Wyrm Prismatic Dragon\Cler20\Sor23\Archmage3\Mystic Theurge10\Eldrich Knight 5! Loosely translated, can prove to be an interesting challenge, to difficult, to "you're roasted and eaten 17 times before the suprise round.." Keep an eye on those HD! A well equipped party can possibly handle up to twice the party's total HD in a monster or monsters. But remember that a dragon will have to spend it's treasure to get good adventuring equipment, and last time I checked, they don't like to do that... Now, if you'll excuse me, I must build some encounters. |

When dragons takes any of the Dragon PRCs in teh Draconomicon, they take the listed advancement (HD, BAB, Saves) for those PRCs level and not epic BAB even if the dragon has a ECL>20 And sorcerer levels do stack with the inborn caster level of dragons. |
| forwardxmotion09-15-06, 03:24 PM | Thank you all for your responses, but what about a Dragon taking levels in Sorcerer? Do these character levels stack with their innate sorcerer abilities? Such as a Juvenile Silver Dragon with 3 levels in sorcerer, would he then cast as a 6th level sorcerer? |
| Derren S.09-15-06, 03:27 PM | Yes, they do. You add the innate dragon caster level and any sorcerer levels the dragon has together to determine how many spells the dragon knows and can cast each day. |
