I just had this cool adventure / campaign idea where a dryad stars as the main villen, but not really.

Basically, dryads are bound to their oak tree's, and cannot stay further away from then 300 yards or they become sick and die in a few hours.

So the basic plot line would go something like this.

- The oak tree this dryad is bound too is awakened. Preferably by an evil druid native to the forest. Like an evil lizard folk of some kind.

- The awakend oak is friendly toward the druid, and the druid convinces the tree that it must go out and destroy all forest intruders, such as elves and humans.

- The tree should have an alignment of evil, and the druid turns the oak tree upon the dryad, not killing her, but the tree should see the dryad as annoying pest that it cannot get rid off.

- The dryad is thus forced to follow her oak tree around, and watch it attack and hurt innocents. She of course does what she can to help save people, using charm spells and such to get people evacuate before the tree attacks.

- So the crux of the adventure would be based around a party of adventures trying to stop the this evil oak tree from killing people in fringe area villages. But the dryad would stop them, or try and stop them because if they destroy her oak tree, they will be killing her. The dryad does not want to hurt anyone, but cannot control her tree.

- The party of adventures, would have to find away to make the tree not evil, perhaps killing the druid that awakened the tree. Of finding some sort of counter to reroot the dryads tree.

- I think this could be quite a fun, low level adventure, probably around level 3 to 5 depending.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea, actually.

I like its originality. It would not be your typical adventure...

You know, I think I will write an adventure using this idea. Thanks! I always like new inspiration.

Chris_The_Guy -> Sweet, if you don't mind, post it here when you're done. I would like to see what you come up with.
