Just wondering what you might this this would be, seeing as Wizards put a big "-" in the LA box (normally there's a "(cohort)" tag if it's only appropriate for leadership. Look in the story reason if you want more details, but I've gotten around the "tied to a tree" deal already, so she can adventure with me, removing what I believe to be the reason she got a "-" for an LA.

The reason I ask is because one of the characters I'm making has a livewood quarterstaff, and one of the properties of livewood is that it's still living (hence the name), even after it is cut from the tree. Also, it states that dryads sometimes live in livewood instead of oak. Hence, my dilema. My character has a staff fashioned from a branch hewn from a livewood tree before the thing was chopped into firewood and burned (the dryad was previously incapacitated as she tried to stop them). So, after the dryad awoke, the only part of her tree remaining was the one livewood branch, so she had to go with it. Time passes, yada yada yada, and the staff ends up in the hands of the character. While he's only level 1/2 when this happens (backstory period of the game), I'm planning on him taking leadership when he can, and so am wondering the LA of his companion dryad.

Is it +0 (thus making her ECL 4 and an applicable companion at level 6, when he can first take it?)? What do you think it should be?

I think a LA of +2 should suffice... :)
