Based upon the Sandstorm book, the Dustform template turns creatures into constructs without giving them extra size-based hitpoints (as per the construct template in monster manual I). For instance, a giant banded lizard that was a true construct would have 5d10 + 40 hitpoints (95), not the 55 listed in the book. This is also how the sample creature's hit points are calculated. I wonder if this lack is some sort of oversight or if this lack of extra hit points is intentional?
