1)Can a creature w/Earth Glide (like an earth elemental, see below), move 5' down (into the earth) and attack a land-based party (using 10' reach)?

2)Can he use the withdraw action to escape straight down into the earth, using Earth Glide?

------
Earth Glide (Ex): An earth elemental can glide through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other signs of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.

1. Yes, but he can't see them so they have a 50% miss chance. On the other hand they need to ready an action to hit him or hack through the earth. Take a look at incorporal they are fairly similar in this regard.

2. Yes, you can always use a withdraw action in a move speed which you have.

But earth glide is not listed seperatly as a move speed for the earth elemental! He just has regular move 30'. I guess it does make sense, though.

Your right, but I am willing to chalk that up to the forgetfulness of developers or an editing mistake. Also the fact it basicly states that it is a natural movement for them along with the fact it is an Ex ability like a beholders flight (although unlike the beholders flight there is no speed listed). So I figure they just didn't feel it required to put the same number twice. If I am making a mistake please correct me I like to stay fairly close to the rules.

Can the tremorsense or blindsense pass thru earth as well as air? I wonder if this applies to all sense abilities?

Tremorsense only works when vibrations are transmitted through solids, i.e. the earth. Of course it works when one is underground.
