ECL of the Greater Drakes [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-21-04, 05:19 PM Has anyone worked out the ECL of the Greater drakes from the Dragon #284 article "Return of the Greater Drakes"? I am evaluating the use of these creatures as steeds via the draconic cohort feat.

03-21-05, 07:34 PM Draconomicon uses some material from that particular magazine, and contains LA for all of its monsters. As I don't have the magazine myself, I don't know which of the Drakes in it you're referring to, though. If you could list the names, I can find the LA for you (if they reprinted the Drakes you're interested in).

Actually I didn't notice any overlap in content between the Draconomicon and ANY issue of Dragon magazine. The Greater Drakes were not reprinted.

As a side note I dislike the lesser drakes which were presented in the Draconomicon. They always seem to lack something (like sufficient limbs)

I don't have the issue handy so I can't list the names. They had elaborate names not just X-drake. I think one of them was the Valochar (sp?)
