ECL's of outsiders [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-13-05, 02:38 AM I am a 30th level cleric/thaumaturgist, I can have an outsider cohort with an ECL of 28. My alignment is true neutral. Can anyone give me some options of ECL 28 outsiders?

08-13-05, 02:44 AM woah... quite a high ECL there... You're starting to look at things like Abominations... CR-wise, at least... if my Knowledge of 3.5 holds, it woudl suggest msot outsiders wil have some insale LA. Perhaps a Rilmani with a few class levels, seeing as you are true neutral. Fiend folio there.

08-13-05, 12:31 PM I didn't realize how few outsiders are actually neutral. Most are aligned in some way. If you need some connections in the outer planes I suggest a Mercane(7HD, 7LA). You can add on 14 class levels(They usually go wizard I think) and you have a cohort with alot of connections in the multiverse's market. Not that they are really powerful, but the Mephits are neutral outsiders. You could add class levels to bring them up to the level you need. A Sylph from MM2, can cast as a sorcerer=HD +4, so you can add sorcerer levels once it maxes out it's normal HD. Also in MM2 is the glimmerskin. It's an incorporeal outsider from the postive energy plane. It's ELC 15, but you can add 13 levels in some type of fighter class, and when it bonds with you..you gain several bonuses..and all it's feats. Any monster of legend is an outsider, so you could find some other creature you like that is about elc 21 and stick that template on it. Githzerai(Manual of the Planes) are neutral outsiders, they prefer the monk class. Lumi(MM3) are usually lawful neutral, and are elc 4, prefer cleric as a class.

08-14-05, 01:09 AM Mephits and Mercanes with class levels are a good option. I can also have elementals, which are neutral. Basically, anything I can get from a Greater Planar Ally spell. What I need is the LA's of the different elementals.
