Ecology of the Beholder, Gibbering Mouther [Archive] - Wizards Community

The Ecology of the Beholder article was way back in issue #76 of Dragon magazine. I have it (somewhere), but I'm looking for a more recent version of the ecologies of both the beholder and the gibbering mouther.

There's a tease in the gibbering orb entry of the Epic Level Handbook about how this epic beastie was possibly the progenitor of both monsters. I want to see if any other sources go into more detail on the matter.

Tried a google search but didn't find anything interesting. Anyone know of anything helpful regarding it?

A little info on Gibbering Mouthers and some info on Gibbering Orbs.
