| DesertStar11-28-06, 10:09 PM | Do eldritch giants have some special ability to ignore arcane spell failure that i'm not aware of? I thought spell-like abilitys suffer arcane spell failure the same as spells and yet the sample eldritch giant wears full plate and took two or three spell-like metamagic feats, also the eldritch giant's tactics round-by-round include using it's spell-like abilitys. Did someone just mess up or what? Am I wrong about somatic components for spell-like abilitys? |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht11-28-06, 10:27 PM | Spell-like abilities have no somatic, material, or verbal components. |
| DesertStar11-28-06, 10:52 PM | Seriously? It's just like that with invocations then i guess... |
| runestar11-28-06, 11:15 PM | Don't invocations suffer ASF in medium or heavier armour? |
| DesertStar11-28-06, 11:33 PM | Yeah, but I think it says that all invocations have somatic components. |
| strenoth11-29-06, 12:01 AM | yes, they do, but that's because invocations are a specific exception to the general rule of SLAs not having any components. There has been a suggested house rule that 2 of them have verbal components (the shatter one, and the Word of Change) given the flavor text, and that suggestion has been approved by the author of the class (thread has long been buried, link any one?) but it's not erratta by any means. |
