Here's a little idea for elementals. I'd just like to give them a little more power over their element, increase the sense of mystique and make them more like lesser gods/spirits rather than random creatures that happen to be made out of earth/fire/water/air.

Fire: Fire elementals gain the spell-like ability pyrokinesis at will. At the Greater level they recieve fireball as a spell-like ability once per day.

Earth: Earth elementals have stone shape at will. Elder Earth elementals can use stone to flesh and flesh to stone each once per day.

Water: Water elementals can use create water at will, and can also use destroy water (dries up equal amount, deals 1 wilting damage to a living creature). Greater Water Elementals and Elder Water Elementals can use control weather twice per day, but the range is limited to an aquatic environment/

Air: Air elementals gain the spell-like ability gust of wind once per day from medium size up. Huge Air Elementals can use Control Weather once per day, Greaters three times per day, and Elders at will. Air elementals can also create one minute's worth of fresh breathable air as a spell-like ability which takes a quickened action (for use in things such as tight spaces or void of the positive and negative energy planes).

What do you think of these ideas? How much do you think it would boost the CR?

A bit conservative, but good intentions are always a good thing.

I'd add even more.
Elements of their respective type can use spells such as animate fire or water depending on their alignment.

How about abilities for the paraelementals? Any thoughts on them?

I took a different approach in designing elemental abilities. I always felt that the Elementals were a bit too much "monster that has fire/earth/water/air traits", rather than "living fire/earth/water/air", so I removed the DR and added some new traits:

Insubstantial (Ex): Elementals are composed of semi-solid material: shifting wind, fire, water, or dirt, soil & sand. As such, attacks aimed at them often fail to strike true, as their bodies flow around weapons. Nonmagical weapons cannot harm an Elemental; weapons with a +1 or greater magical enhancement suffer a 20% miss chance, unless they also posssess the Ghost Touch enhancement.

Shapable (Ex): (Air & Water elementals only) these creatures are able to reshape themselves based on total volume, rather than being confined to a humanoid shape. Large Elementals may occupy any four continious squares, while Huge Elementals may occupy any nine. An elemental occupying a non-square area does not gain any additional attacks, but it still threatens squares according to its reach.

I also removed the Push special ability from Earth Elementals, and replaced it with another special ability. I like the idea that a 10' tall mound of earth doesn't just slam you, it tries to drive you backwards with each blow:

Knockback (Ex): When an opponent is hit by an Earth Elemental's slam attack, they must immediately roll an opposed Strength check. (using all the modifiers of a Bull Rush) Failing the Strength check causes the creature to be pushed back 5 ft., which provokes AoOs from other creatures. (but not the Elemental who attacked)
