Elementals and Items [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-20-06, 08:01 PM I'm just starting a bonded summoner character, and it seems likely that my air elemental could benefit from an Amulet of Health. But can elementals wear items? Could the elemental wear a suit of armor?

10-21-06, 02:04 AM Question is more if it would want to wear it...which is probably a No. But techincally Yes Elementals could wear it and any other items desired. Elementals are not proficient with armor however and would suffer all negatives penalties as normal.

10-21-06, 05:34 AM Well, there are always mithril chain shirts...though eq might interfere with some of their special abilities...:P

10-21-06, 11:12 AM Was late last night when I first responded, wasnt even thinking about special abilities really. If a elemental was wearing armor I would also say that they couldn't use Vortex, Whirlwind, or Earthglide unless A) the armor was removed or B) a special quality was added to the armor like druids have (Wild) now so they can still keep their armor in Wild Shape. Items also if used for a fire elemental need some sort of constant fire resistance. Magic or not you put a item on a creature that is ALWAYS on fire its going to need resistance or it will melt and fail sooner or later.
