| sandskimmer02-06-04, 07:29 PM | How does the Arcbound (Large Construct) get a +5 to its damage rolls when it only has a 2 Str? Its AC should be 19 (9 touch). Otherwise, everything looks good. Nice concepts. |

| Elessar02-07-04, 11:40 AM | What about how arcbounds give their parts over to other constructs upon their own destruction? |
| Eltheynn02-07-04, 01:27 PM | Originally posted by Elessar What about how arcbounds give their parts over to other constructs upon their own destruction? Hmm.... Hadn't thought about that. But I'd say they can't, if they're destructed there are no pieces to be given. P.S: Added the Ramidreju, Oxancanu and Mengue. So BUMP... |
| sandskimmer02-07-04, 08:31 PM | The Oxancanu (Large Monstrous Humanoid) has a fort DC 16 save on its roar. Standard saves are: 10 + 1/2HD + Con mod In this case, that would = 18, but it also has the ability focus (roar), giving it another +2, for a total of 20 - correct? I'm not seeing the Mengue. Perhaps I've gone partially blind... |

Perhaps I've gone partially blind... Ach! Damn, being a newbie at monster creation is hard.... I'll edit the save. And the Mengue is here, but with it being a tiny vermin, I can understand you overlooked it. It's the second monster (below the arcbound, but in top of the Neurogoo). |
| sandskimmer02-08-04, 12:32 PM | Found the Mengue (Tiny Vermin). Have some question about it too. It uses weapon finesse to attack, and as a vermin, it uses a cleric's BAB (3/4th HD). So by my reckoning, it should have an attack of only +3 (all dex), not the +4 you have listed. I may be missing something here. Also, the DC for its poison is 12. With only 1/4HD & no con mod, shouldn't it be 10? Making monsters is the best way to become familiar with the rules of monster creation. You'll find that even seasoned monster makers tend to overlook small details sometimes. You're doing a great job. Keep it up! :) |

Thanks for your help, next time I'll double check things before posting ;) |

Well, in M:tG, arcbounds only give parts when they've been destroyed. Only when an arcbound goes to the graveyard do its pieces transfer to another artifact creature (construct.) What I envisioned is that all that energy that holds the pieces together searches for a nearby construct host to pull the pieces onto if some force manages to tear them apart. Also, when this transfer occurs, not only would hit points raise (toughness), but also damage potential (power). |

It was loosely based on M:tG (someone asked if Arcbounds could be made D&D style, I gave it a try), but I'll consider your proposal... Although I like their abilities as of now, and if anything, I'll add it to the monster, not modify or take out. |
