Where can a fledgling gamer find info on emerald dragons. I've managed to browse through the old council of wyrms and monster manual. Are there any other sources of info? Thanks!

They're Psionic, which is cool. Rebuilding those dragons with XPH and CP would be cool.

The emerald dragon has undergone quite a change in abilites from 2e to 3e. Flamewalking of any flavor is gone, and it now specializes in clairsentience. As Drath'ri pointed out, it is in the Monster Manual II along with the other gem dragons, but prior to that it appeared in a freely-downloadable web enhancement to the 3.0 Psionics Handbook. As of this writing there is no official update to gem dragons' psionic abilities to the 3.5 rules; I have unofficial updates in the link in my sig.

there is a free version on the WotC site somewhere ... web enhancement for the PsiHb ... HERE (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20010330a)

then download the 3.5 update for the MMIII (or is II?) ... HERE (https://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a)

then check the online SRD for updated psionics rules ... HERE (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/psionic.html)

a bit of work, but all free in the end

i don't think the gem dragons were even mentioned in the Draconimiconiniconiliconigicon book. No Modrons bland yugoloths and this! WOTC has it against me!

They are mentioned in the Draconimicon, though not much. The draco focuses on the Chromatics and Metallics, but Gem dragons, aside from apperaing in the appendix, also have Level Adjustments, and the like on Page 144 of the Draconimocon. It also includes the same for the Lung Dragons (I really hate that name) and the Faerunian dragons (brown, Shadow, fang, song, and deep)

In fact the example in the Other True Dragons section on page 144 is of a sapphire dragon.

But no, it does not have updated stats.

If you are looking for 2nd edition stats for the gem dragons, I am not sure which book to look in. I honestly cannot remember.... Ahh well.
