In the manual of the planes w/3.5 update and the planar handbook there are an either elemental or outsider type creatures called energons.

In the MotP w/update it states that the energons therein are elementals of positive and negative energy.

In the Planar Handbook it states that the various energy type energons are outsiders.

Now if they are elementals what would there saves be?

and if they are outsiders, keep the books straight!

Thanks for any answers.

Xeg-Yi and Xag-Ya, embodiments of negative and positive energy respectively, are the closest thing to elementals of their energies that exist.

The so-called energons detailed in the Planar Handbook are really nothing like those two beings, and thematically stand at odds to those two. I'd make them outsiders, and I'd make them more distinct from the two actual energon types from the + and - energy planes. It mentions finding those "energons" in the outer planes even, which is antithetical to them by definition. You don't find beings of the elements on planes of manifest belief, no more than you would you find fiends spawning from say, the elemental plane of air.

*cough*

That said, an energon of say, acid, that you found in an acidic layer of the Abyss could be envisioned as an outsider manifested of the substance of the Abyss, CE manifested as the idea of acid (but not true, elemental acid or paraelemental ooze if you wanted to be precise). Similarly, for the other Planar Handbook "energons", just make them outsiders manifested in pseudo-elemental form by whatever plane you find them on.

Works for me. Thanks for the response.

Any idea for the good saves for the + and - energons?
