| Kothardarastrix10-14-05, 05:41 AM | Anyone got a template for the two epic dragons? |
| RavinRay10-14-05, 07:30 AM | Not a template per se, but I suggested on a similar old thread that, to reflect the epic status of the dragon parent, the half-epic dragon should have the abilities of the dragon disciple at 20th level, since the 10th-level dragon disciple is equivalent to a standard half-dragon. |
| Verelor10-14-05, 03:30 PM | There's some things that just shouldn't breed...as if that's going to stop you. |
| rampant10-14-05, 05:17 PM | there is a lot of similarity between the mages who create half-spawn and the people who design them I recall there bieng a detailed revision of just about every true dragon half-dragon template it might not be up any more but it was fracking awesome I wonder if fracking will ever become one of the words the boards automatically replace with ******** amazing they are still up and updating wow http://www.valdier.com/roleplaying/D&D/althalf-dragon.html |
| rampant10-15-05, 04:23 AM | you got it? |
| Kothardarastrix10-15-05, 04:28 AM | Yes I did, I also love it, now if we could convince him to do something with those damned uniform Half-Fiends. |
| gradea10-16-05, 12:58 AM | Uniform half fiends have a place. Their the children of creatures with the abyssial template, not the children of Tanari or Balors. As for epic half dragons, as much as i hate to say this, increasing the bonuses they get by x1.5 to x2.0 may be an appropraite way to up thier power, though using the powers of a lvl 20 dragon desicple strikes me as a good idea. |
| SirGog10-16-05, 11:07 AM | A while ago, I made a half-force-dragon template. Here it is again: Half-Force Dragon (Template) Half-force dragon is an inherited template that can be added to any living, corporeal creature (hereafter referred to as the base creature). Force dragons seldom interact with any other than their own kind, but as highly intelligent beings, they are capable of it. Furthermore, they have emotions, and are capable of falling in love with creatures of any type. When they do, their offspring become far more powerful than their non-draconic parent. Adjust the base creature as follows: Type: The base creature's type becomes dragon, and it has the augmented subtype in addition to any other subtype (for example, if the base creature is a fire giant, the creature type is Dragon (augmented giant, fire). Size: Force dragons are large, and so are their offspring. If the base creature is Large or smaller, the half-dragon is one size category larger (adjust ability scores as per Monster Manual, as though the creature got larger through advancement). Otherwise, the creature is larger than average, but does not gain a size category. HD: Racial HD increase by 1 die type (as per standard half-dragon template, Monster Manual). Class HD are unchanged. Spd: If the base creature is Medium or larger, it gains wings, and a fly speed of 2x its land speed (max 120ft, average manouverability). AC: The creature gains +10 to its natural armour, and also gains a deflection bonus to AC equal to its Charisma bonus (if any). Atk: The half-dragon gains bite and claw attacks, the same as any other half-dragon. SA: Breath weapon: The half-dragon gains the ability to breathe a 30-foot cone of force particles once per hour. This cone deals 10d12 force daamge to all those inside it (Reflex half, DC = 10+1/2 HD+Con mod) Spell-like abilities: If its Intelligence or Wisdom is 8 or greater, the half-force dragon gains the following spell-like abilities: HD Ability 1+ mage armour 1/day 3+ magic missile 3/day 5+ spiritual weapon (by alignment) 1/day 7+ otiluke's resilient sphere 1/day 9+ wall of force 1/day 11+ forceball (as fireball , but 15d6 damage cap and all damage is force damage, 6th level spell) 1/day 13+ mordankaeinen's sword 1/day 15+ maze 1/day 17+ Permanent wall of force 1/week 19+ wall of force at will The save DCs are based upon whichever is higher, Int or Wis. SQ: The half-force dragon gains darkvision 60ft, low-light vision, immunity to sleep and paralysis, and is able to see and ignore all force effects, as per an adult force dragon. Abil: +12/0/+6/+4/+4/+4 Skills: As half-dragon (MM) CR: Huge or larger: As base creature +4 Large or smaller: As base creature +6 If this calculation gives a CR of less than 10, the CR is 10 unless the DM believes otherwise. |
