Epic Insights: Dragons of the Glacier and the Grave

The Draconomicon introduced a large number of new dragons to the game. A few, particularly the larger varieties of landwyrm, can challenge epic-level characters, but once you get higher than 25th level or so all that remains to challenge you are a small handful of true dragons (such as the force dragon). This article presents two new lesser dragons that can pose a threat to higher level epic characters.

I wonder if a Gravewyrm can stand a chance against Azathoth? CR 50 vs CR 45.

DM's can use the advanced dragon rules to increase a true dragon's CR infintely, though increasing it to 45 would certainly take a boat load of work.

The glacierdrak (should that read "glacierdrake?") has a size category of "colossal." A colossal dragon, according to the Monster Manual page 69 should do the following damage:

bite 4d8
claws 4d6
wings 2d8
tail slap 4d6.

The glacierdrak statistics block, however, gives the glacierdrak bite damage of 2d8. Should the 2d8 change to 4d8? :)
