Equipment $ for NPC Yuan Ti Ranger? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-07-05, 02:21 AM So, if I've got an NPC Yuan Ti Halfblood who's got 2 levels of ranger, how much money should he get for gear?

The reason I'm asking is this: the guy's ECL is going to be huge: 7+2+5=14, but his challenge rating is only 7. Seems like giving him the gear of a 14th level NPC would boost his CR a whole lot, plus it'd put a whole lot of money in the hands of the PCs if they manage to kill him.

12-07-05, 02:43 AM As an npc, you give him gear equal to what a cr7 npc would receive according to the npc wealth guidelines in the DMG. ECL is only for PCs.
