After playing The Suffering (awesome game by the way!) I really want to play a monster character that resembles the Slayers from that game. Those are the creatures you first encounter, the ones with blades instead of forearms and legs. I was wondering if there are any DnD monsters out there that would make (if not astetically, then better statiscally) a good Slayer equivelant. I intend to play said monster as a character in an upcoming campaign, a somewhat more more intelligent (though just as sadistic) Slayer-like creature.

As for details, heres a good image...

Slayers are very fast beings that bob and weave as they move on their precarious limbs. Sometimes they skitter about on all 4 blades in a spider-like manner and can crawl along walls and ceilings with alarming speed. They make hissing and shrieking noises, though there's no reason why my Slayer character couldn't speak as well. Another minor detail about them is the fact that they have no necks, their heads are held just above their torso by a set of large, supported nails. This is because they are the undead remains of prisoners who were decapitated.

I would imagine that having blades for 'both' arms wouldn't help with manual dexterity, so maybe i'll leave his one arm normal so he would have at least one hand!. Either that or he could have a retractable set. This has made me think of using Nimblewright stats, what with their innate dexterity and rapier-arms. What do you think?... :D

Thanks for your time

Just a few thoughts:

They're undead.

They're harmed by bright light.

They have spider climb permanently on, and can attack while climbing at no penalty.

Taking off their heads (sunder attempt, a la hydra?) makes them go beserk and attack closest creature until destroyed.

High hide modifier. No points in move silently.

Improved Overrun and Dodge on their feat list.

I'd say d8 for the blades.

Thanks for the tips, but I would rather have an existed race/monster rather than make my own.

Thanks for reminding of their vulnerability to light, that could be a problem if I were going to go completly hardcore Slayer with this character...

Attack: Blade +8 (1d8+3/17-20/x3)
Full Attack: 2 blades +8 (1d8+3/17-20/x3)
Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft.
Special Attacks: Augmented critical, whirling rush
Special Qualities: Decapitation vulnerability, blindsense 60', light vulnerability, spider climb, unholy toughness

Abilities: Str 17, Dex 23, Con --, Int 13, Wis 11, Cha 18
Skills: Hide +13, Intimidate +7, Jump +14, Listen +3, Spot +3
Feats: Dodge[1], Power Attack[3]
Alignment: CE
Advancement: 4-10 HD (Medium), 11-20 HD (Large)
CR:

Augmented Critical (Ex): A slayer’s blades threaten a critical hit on a natural attack roll of 17–20, dealing triple damage on a successful critical hit. This does not stack with other effects that alter crit ranges.

Whirling Rush (Ex): On a charge, a slayer leap forwards, slashing wildly with all four blades. The slayer does double damage (2d8+6), and is treated as a trip attempt. If the trip attempt fails, the opponent may not react to trip the slayer.

Decapitation Vulnerability (Ex): Unlike most undead, slayers are vulnerabule to decapitation. To sever a head, an opponent must make a successful sunder attempt with a slashing weapon. (The player should declare where the attack is aimed before making the attack roll.) Making a sunder attempt provokes an attack of opportunity unless the foe has the Improved Sunder feat. The metal fixtures holding the slayer's head to its body have hardness 8 and 5 hit points, and the slayer's head has hit points equal to the half the creature's full hit points. Both the head and the nails have AC 18. A slayer whose head is removed flies into a blind rage on its next turn, gaining +4 strength, temporary hit points equal to two times its hit die, -2 to armor class, and blindly attacks the nearest creature (even another slayer) until it is destroyed.

Light Vulnerability (Ex): A slayer takes double damage from attacks and spells with the light descriptor, and suffers the same effects as a vampire from sunlight.

Unholy Toughness (Su): A Slayer gains extra hit points using its Charisma modifier instead of its Constitution modifier.

Thanks for the stats robertliguori!. Do you mind if I use them for my character? I'm guessing its ECL is around about 6, maybe. The LA might of been bigger if it weren't for their decapitation and light vulnerabilities.
