What damage would sustain a demon (for instance) grappling a saint with Holy Touch (BoED)?

From Book of Exalted Deeds, page 185:
Holy Touch (Su): A saint entire being is suffused with holy power, which likewise flows into any weapon the saint wields. A saint's melee attacks with any weapon (or unarmed) deal an additional 1d6 points of holy damage against evil creatures, and 1d8 points against evil undead and evil outsiders. Any evil creature that strikes a saint whith a natural weapon takes holy damage as if hit by the saint's attack.

Would the demon suffer
a) 1d8 points of damage per round grappling, or
b) more due to continual contact (then how much?), or
c) none unless it makes an attack against the saint?
Or even d) the demon would simply not be able to grapple such a creature?
e) ...?

As the ability's written, it wouldn't take damage unless one of them attempted a grapple check to make an unarmed attack against the other.
