What is the best way to make an evil penguin? Simply adding the corrupted template to a normal penguin is just too cheap.

Pseudonatural Penguin.

Specifically the Epic Version Here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/monsters/pseudonaturalCreature.htm).

(On that note, not to derail, but does anyone know why there are two different templates called Pseudonatural?)

The best part is the penguin can look like a normal regular penguin if it wants. Call it Santa's Little Helper, and it spews nothing but Monty Python Insults as it tears you to shreds.

How about a Gargantuan Phrenic Half-Golem Penguin of Legend?

The first template was from Tome and Blood and the second is from
The Epic Level Handbook. There is this note in the EPH pg 212:

"If you use both Tome of Blood and the Epic Level Handbook, this template represents a more powerful version of the pseudonatural template than presented there. The alienist prestige class presented in Tome and Blood does not have power over pseudonatural creatures created using the Epic Level Handbook."

That is why there is a Pseudonatural Template and an Epic Pseudonatural template. The SRD has the mechanics but not the details unfortunately.

Evil penguins: Why penguins shouldn't mess around with a helm of opposite alignment or a deck of many things. Go visit Zando’s Emporium of Exotic and Rare Beasts from the adventure, Castle Greyhawk. Yes, it's a 2nd edition module, but that's where the killer dolphins and uniducks came from. You can always blame the cursed "random monster generator" there.

["Cursed" in the above instance has two syllables and should be spoke while pumping one's fist in the air. This, of course, looks much better if one is a tights-wearing hero.]

If you create an evil penguin, make sure it carries a bag of throwing knives and other assorted implements of destruction, and explodes when thrown.
