Expedition to the Barrier Peaks [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-11-06, 08:18 AM The recent article about this module has inspired me to convert it and use it as a one shot. This and City of the Gods are two of my favourite 1e modules. So will combine the ideas together. Having said that there are a lot of monsters to convert. Though I suspect I will be replacing a lot of them to change the flavour to be somewhat more series/modern in taste (for example those weird video-camera style laser guns into Alien style slug-throwers) I am curious if any of these monsters have already been converted to 3.5e?

• Frogehmoth - Recent Dungeon mag for Age of Worms.
• Vegiepygmies - will probably just replace these with Grendalspawn from d20 Modern to have a more Alien-esque feel.
• Vegiedogs - Again probably just drop them entirely or add a wood/plant template to some canine.
• Lurker Above - Cloaker/Choker?
• Strangle Vines - ?
• Vampre Thorn Vines - ?
• Webbirds - ?
• Leechoids - Giant leeches I guess.
• Lizardoids - T-Rex or other dino.
• Aurumvorax - ?
• Baboonoids - some kind of other monkey. Either Ogrillions (sp? those 6 armed apes) if I want aggressive monsters or something else with a better character.
• Squelar - ?
• Wolf-in-Sheeps-Clothing - ?
• Gasbats - ?
• Trappers - ?
• Shedu - ?
• Robots, Androids & Weapons - Just use d20 Modern Future rules. Easy conversion.

I know none of these would be particularly difficult to convert or replace. More curious if any conversions exist to see how other people did them.

Finally what was a round in 1e? Was it 6s like 3e or 1 minute? It’s been so long I can't recall.

but i would count the strangle vines as assasin vines.
