Okay, here's my first attempt at making a new type of monster, well, first serious attempt (I don't really count that monstrosity I came up with in the 'Monsters based on your screen name' thread).

Just a little background on this idea. D&D erinyes are said to be descendents of angels who fell from the heavens because of temptation. Now, the idea for a template to be added to an erinyes popped into my head when I remembered a certain compliment I had recieved in the past, and I thought to myself, what if some of those erinyes were once guardian angels?

Would they still have the bond between themselves and whatever mortal they were supposed to watch over? (I am assuming yes, otherwise I wouldn't even be bothering to post this ;) ). So, I came up with a template for a erinyes who still feels the need to watch over her ward.

Creating a Fallen Guardian
This template can be added ONLY to an erinyes. Use the base stats of an erinyes, and add the changes included here. A erinyes of the fallen guardian variant is created simultaneously with the birth of the mortal they are bound to protect, usually a soft and weak humanoid who needs the protection (so no being the guardian of a dragon, for crying out loud!)

Special Qualities
-Mortalbond (Su): Upon the creation of a Fallen Guardian, she feels the inexplicable pull towards the material plane, towards the mortal she is to protect. A fallen guardian gains the ability to sense the location and condition of her ward at all times, even if she and her ward are on two different planes. She also gains the ability to use her greater teleport ability to travel to wherever her ward is, even if this requires travel between planes. The erinyes will not abuse this ability (as in, she wont push her ward through an extra dimensional gate just so she can then teleport to a different plane) and will only use it to the benefit of her ward.

-Unknown Guardian (Su): The fallen guardian knows that it is best to work from behind the curtains when watching over her ward. She has the effects of a greater invisibility and a silence spell active at all times. This does not hamper her ability to use her natural abilities. In addition, she can selectively suppress this ability; what that means is she can freely choose as a free action to reveal herself to an individual(s) while remaining unseen by others. A usual tactic is to stand behind her ward, wings outstretched and sword withdrawn, and reveal herself to those who are threatening her ward. When she does this, she gains a +15 to Intimidate checks against those she reveals herself to.

A fallen gaurdian is EXTREMELY hesitent to ever let her ward know of her existence and avoids doing so at all costs.

-Selfless Warden (Su): A fallen guardian can heal her ward with a thought, but at cost of her own vitality. A fallen gaurdian can activate her healing ability as a full action, dealing at a minimum 2 points of temporary CON damage to herself. She can choose to take as many points of temp CON damage as she wishes, even if it kills her (though as a regular erinyes has a Con score of 21, it would be pointless to take more than 20 Con damage, as her ward will gain no additional healing for that extra 1 con). Once she does this, her ward is immediately healed 1 hp per HD the ward possesses for every every 2 points of CON damage the fallen gaurdian takes. The effect is immediate and can be performed at any range, so long as the guardian can see her ward. The fallen guardian cannot recover this ability damage through any means until she rests for 8 hours (subject to the same rules of casters regaining spells) and then the damage heals at its normal rate. (This ability is based on the Stigmata feat found in the Book of Exalted Deeds. If I have reproduced the ability too closely, I will gladly change this ability until it is viable)

Spell-like abilities
In addition to her normal spell-like abilities, the fallen gaurdian gains the ability to cast shield other on her ward at her normal caster level of 12.

CR: +? (suggestions please)
LA: +?

And now my brain is fried. I'll finish this up later when I remember where else I was going with this, like adding abilities the fallen guardian will gain when her ward is slain (Can you say lamenting, vengeful angel of evil?).

Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated.
