Fast Healing Template [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-17-08, 01:28 AM Trying to write up a +1 LA template, with fast healing 1 as the keystone.

Fast Healing 1 is worth +1 LA all on its own, correct? I'm wondering what else can be added to that without bringing this template over to +2 LA. Trying to keep it simple, but still useful.

Something like Fast Healing 1, +2 dex, +2 to survival and move silently.
With a scaling version of Fast Healing (Say up to 2 at 5th level, 3 at 10th, 4 at 15th and 5 at 20th), do you think this still falls into the +1 LA category?

I have seen the Feral template in SS, and while it is similar in some ways to what I'm looking for, I'm not going for a stupid-tough feel. More like the trolls from the Warcraft games. Suggestions for this?

03-17-08, 12:25 PM You might want to research the old Feral Template in Savage Species. I can't remember what exactly it gave and I don't have the book at hand but I believe that template had either Regen or Fasthealing.

I believe there is a Half Troll template in Fiend Folio and the Monster of Legend Template in MM2 but both have heavy LA. I remember the Fiend Folio one being a Little weak for its LA but if you made a toned down a version of either you might have something like you want. You might also just Reflavor or change some of the numbers on the Feral Template to make it a little more playable.

03-17-08, 06:26 PM I've seen monster of legend, and thats way massive compared to what I want. As for tweaking and reflavouring, thats fine, but I'd end up removing close to everything from Feral. All I really want is fast healing 1. Scaling isn't even all that necessary; Enough to keep you on your feet, but not enough for it to become a major part of the character (stat-wise)
