Dnd zombies are slow. And if they bite you, its just damage.

Has anyone made some faster moving zombies with an infectious bite?

No, but I can make one up right now...

1) Take away the special quality Single Actions Only.

2) Turn the slam attack into a bite attack.

3) Add the special attack Disease:

Disease (Ex): Zombie fever--bite, DC (10 + 1/2 zombie's HD + Zombie's Str) Incubation period 1 day, damage 1d4 Con and 1d4 Int. Creatures killed while infected with zombie fever (or killed by the disease) rise as zombies themselves in 2d6 rounds. A creature must succeed on three consecutive saves against zombie fever in order to be rid of the disease.

There you go!

Well there's the Ju-JU zombie from Unapproachable east and though technically not undead the infectious zombie is played nicely by the Yellow Musk Creeper, a plant that turns victims infected by it's spores into zombies who can in turn pass the infection on. It's in the Fiend Folio.

I think when WoTC created zombies for DnD I think they were trying to make scry things, but closer to the African zombis.

Honestly, I wouyld suggest using ghouls instead, they look like Zombies, move fast, and tuurn others into more of them, maybe your world just calls these zombies. there is a ghoulish template in Dragon compendium on page 205.

if that's not what you want, then you could at least start with the ghoul, and then modify until you feel it's good.

Andy Collins (one of the 3E designers) has pretty much what you're looking for (http://www.andycollins.net/Features/theater_mainpage.htm) on his webpage. Check it out

Libris Mortis has several templates for Zombies that can make them diseased, fast and several other things too.

Call the new type of zombie the Hollywood Zombie.

Faster, smarter, deadlier, evil-er, and contagious.

Oh yeah, and they seem to be able to detect life in many movies.

If you want a real Hollywood-style zombies, they also need to specialize in grappling attacks. Giving zombies improved grab as a special ability, or even just Improved Grapple as a bonus feat, makes them much more flavourful opponents as they try to latch onto the players and drag them down instead of just flailing away with slam attacks.

It combines nicely with the diseased or biting zombies to produce the kind of "hungry dead" favoured by Hollywood.

I believe a "real" Hollywood zombie would probably have the following special ability:

Clandestine Fast Movement (Ex): Although zombies are slow moving creatures under normal circumstances, they have an amazing turn of speed when needs be. As a move equivalent action, a zombie can close any distance between itself and it's target (any creature the zombie has witnessed in the last 10 rounds). There are a number of limiting factors on this however.
Firstly, no one ever sees this movement. Scholars are uncertain why this is the case but at a best guess it's because zombies are shy of showing off this ability. Either way, if anyone is watching the zombie, it cannot use this ability. Zombies can use this ability however, if the only creatures witnessing this movement are other zombies.
Secondly, the victim must have come to a standstill and be breathing heavily, convinced that they have succeeded in outrunning the zombie.
Finally, there must be a convenient obstacle from which the zombie has to emerge from behind when it finishes its Clandestine Fast Movement, catching their victim flat-footed in the process.

Has no one here looked at Ghouls? Fast moving and infectious. The only difference from zombies is that they are not mindless. Simply remove the Int score and you have what you seek.
