Homebrew: Julnarian Dragon. The only dragon breed in my campaing setting. Highly adaptive, gains traits depending on its enviornment (so a Julnarian dragon that lives near a volcano will develope a firey breath weapon, and the like)

Otherwise: Shadow Dragon. Negavtive levels are more dangerous than damage.

Gold, Pyroclastic, Shadow, and Moonstone...though the last one hasn't been updated yet for d20. Guess I'll just have to do it myself. ;)

Shadows. I know they are popular, its just because they are awesome.
Blacks. I'm a fan of the swamps myself, and they just have a look of supreme viciousness.
Bronze. Strategic minds, likes water, has a lightning breath weapon. All sorts of fun.
Sapphire. Dragons with dex just kick ass.

Fang - Deadly spikes.
Deep - Underdarky goodness.
Force - The Ultimate Dragon
Horned Felldrake - Make scary mounts.

In order of coolness. :D

Can't believe only one other person brought up silver. :P Well, it's my favorite true dragon anyways... those others are cool (the non-true), but for some reason I just can never see them as 100% dragon. ;)

Okay. This is in all seriousness. Almost everyone I ever ask/play with/read about, why is the Silver brought up? I'm not hating against it, but merely cursious as to why many people find it a wonderous dragon. That's all. I know Golds and Reds are pretty cool and damn powerful. Not too clear on why Silver would come up. And why doesn't anyone every fav. the White? So under appriciated it is. (I smell BBEG comming on.) Or the Green for that matter?

Eh, just curious.

Blues. They are the only dragon I respect (blacks look cool but don't hold a candle to blues), especially after reading some of their livestyle fluff and such in the Draconomicon(sp?). I think that they look awsome, especially their form (I dig the shorter neck and their broad ridged tails) and I like their lightning breath as I think fire (and thus reds) are overrated and overused.

IMC, there will be no dragons to begin with. If I feel the PC's are up to it, they will have to deal with umbral (Libris Mortis) blue dragons that spill forth from the plane of shadows at the south pole.

Well, here's one of the reasons I think they're cool:

http://www.toddlockwood.com/galleries/magazines/01/silver_dragon.shtml

Besides that, they're good, they can walk on clouds, they are the primary enemies/rivals of red dragons, and they like to take on humanoid form. They have no innate blatant character flaws besides those common to all dragons, and they are known as "shield dragons" for their predilection for protecting the weak and helpless.

What's not to like?

Ah. So they are like the Momma Bear of dragons. Mess with it's 'young', you'd better watch out.

I guess I'm not fond of them because I'd rather eat you than protect you. *shrugs* To each their own. ;)

i think shadow dragons are probably one of the best, they are cool and powerful.
use them properly, and you can provide a challenge even for the most veteran parties.

Red and gold dragon are powerful too but lack the coolness of the shadow

Love the gold dragon the most. Just has that oriental look and I think that is awesome.
2nd i like the fang dragon. just looks really scary. Here is why i have to like the fang dragon. friend of mine is DMing another campain and its a evil campain and our PC are monsters. anywho my char is a minotaur half dragon monk. the dragon that he is halved of is a fang dragon. instead of doing the breath weapon thing, since the fang doesnt have one just a bite effect. we uped his damg die by one cause he has sharp fang spikes all over him. very dangerous is the half fang dragon minotaur monk. :)

From the MM, Red is my favourite. But I had to pick one, I would pick black dragons, and not the weak cripplings from the MM. Im talking about stronger than red here :D

Adamantite, from the 2nd edition Outer Planes Monstrous Compendium. Probably the most powerful dragon of them all, other than the gigantic dragons from the Spelljammer compendiums.

Much love for the hellfire wyrm. I only wish there was a "lesser" version of it, since I doubt my 10th level party could handle a CR 26 critter. :( As far as the 'true' dragons go, I like shadow and prismatics.

Bronze. I have a bordering-on-religious reverence for those buggers.

Apotheosis! Paragon of dragons!

Best personality, best visual design, neatest powers, best everything. End of effing story. The other breeds have some pieces of awesome, but bronzes have it all.

I have to agree that Bronze are up there on the "cool" list.

But Pyroclastic dragons, for me...represent the whole juggernaught of destruction aspect of dragons very well. And their disinigration breath weapon can't hurt that image.

I like the Styx, Howling, and Rust Dragons. Great variety, great usability.

I like the Hellfire Wrym art, but I don't like the game mechanics of it. I've seen a variant over at Dicefreaks, but it's missing CR values, and might be overpowered.

I liked the concept of the Linnorms in the MMII, but like a lot of things from that book, I hated the execution of it. Making a better version of those creatures is on my "to-do" list...

then tortures & devourers them...
