This is my felldrake thread. I've come up with several variant felldrakes, which will be added her approximately whenever I can (Internet access is spotty). As always, PEACHes, comments and critiques are welcome.

The creature resembles a small dragon, perhaps seven feet long, but built along the lines of a cougar. It is long and lean, and its scales are black and unreflective, its eyes ruby-red. Its long, slender tail lashes violently.

Ages ago, in one of their innumerable surface raids, the drow came into contact with the felldrakes, guardians of the surface elves. And eventually, one enterprising drow beastmaster captured a clutch of felldrake eggs and took them back into the Underdark. After several hundred years of selective breeding and typical drow discipline, the descendants of those eggs bear little similarity to any surface felldrake; they are the hunting dogs of those drow fortunate enough to have their services.
Known to the drow as honglathin tagnik'zur, or "cutting dragons" for their slashing tails, deep felldrakes are as vicious and merciless as their surface kindred are noble and gallant. Bred by the dark elves, deep felldrakes believe that mercy is a sign of weakness, and that surface elves are fit only to be slaughtered. They consider other felldrakes to be, at best, pale imitations of their magnificence.
Deep felldrakes speak Draconic and Undercommon. They average seven feet in length, and weigh about 300 pounds.

Combat: Deep felldrakes are sly and vicious in combat. A lone felldrake will attempt to ambush the weakest member of the party, while a group will employ strategy and tactics to gain the upper hand. A favored trick is for a lone felldrake to confront the enemy, hissing insults in Draconic (and making use of the Intimidate skill) while the other members of its pack slink around to flanking positions.
Blindsight (Ex): In the lightless depths of the Underdark, the senses of deep felldrakes have sharpened to an extent their surface cousins cannot hope to match.
Crawler (Ex): Deep felldrakes can slither through cramped tunnels and caverns far more easily than their size would indicate. For purposes of moving through cramped quarters, a deep felldrake is considered to be one size category smaller than it actually is.
Slashing Tail (Ex): A deep felldrake's tail is covered with razor-sharp scales, with which it can slash a foe viciously. Any living creature struck by a deep felldrake's suffers a bleeding wound, losing 1 hp per round until the wound is healed or bound. This ability has no effect on creatures without blood, or any creature immune to critical hits.

Due to their dark coloration and general sneakiness, deep felldrakes have a +6 racial bonus on Hide checks

Felldrake the Second:

Felldrake, Feathered
Tiny Dragon
Hit Dice 1d12 (6 hp)
Initiative +5
Speed 20', fly 40' (good)
AC 18 (+2 size, +5 Dex, +1 natural), touch 17, flat-footed 13

Environment Elven lands
Organization Solitary, pair or flock (5-20)

Alignment Always neutral good
Advancement 2-3 HD (Tiny)
Level Adjustment n/a

This creature resembles a tiny couatl or wyvern. A pear-sized body is balanced between a long, slender tail and an equally long neck with a draconic head. Its hind legs sport clutching claws, but in place of forelegs the creature has a pair of feathered wings. Its scales are pale green, the wings patterned in blue and yellow, and the eyes are dark brown.

Feathered felldrakes, one of the very few winged varieties of felldrake, are messengers and scouts. With a personality somewhat like that of a small child, feathered felldrakes are nonetheless focused and determined messengers.
Feathered felldrakes average 2' in length and weight about 10 pounds.

Combat: Feathered felldrakes are woefully unsuited for melee combat, something they avoid unless they have no alternative. They prefer to use their superior mobility and ranged attacks to keep a healthy distance from their foes. Feathered felldrakes usually fight in swarms, confusing the enemy with their numbers.
Breathe Weapon (Su): A feathered felldrake can exhale a tiny line of fire that deals 2d4 points of fire damage. This attack requires a ranged touch attack and has a maximum range of 30'. After breathing, a feathered felldrake must wait one round before breathing again.
Evasion (Ex): A feathered felldrake that is exposed to an effect that allows a Reflex save for half damage takes no damage on a successful save.

Familiars: Feathered felldrakes occasionally become familiars to elven or half-elven sorcerers and wizards. They virtually never bond with a non-elf to this extent. To take a feathered felldrake as a familiar, the character must be a 3rd-level arcane spellcaster and have the Improved Familiar feat. Feathered felldrakes grant their masters no special bonuses.

Felldrake the Third:

Felldrake, Hissing
Medium Dragon
Hit Dice 6d12+12 (52 hp)
Initiative +1
Speed 30', climb 20'
AC 17 (+1 Dex, +6 natural), touch 11, flat-footed 16

The creature resembles a cross between a python and a crocodile, but it has a dragon's head. Its body is long and its legs short for its size, but it moves with fluid grace. Its scales are emerald dappled with amber, and its eyes are a startling blue.

Hissing felldrakes are large and powerful creatures, their bodies designed to wrap around and constrict their prey. They excel as guards, grappling and restraining intruders, and are often found on the battlefield when elven lands are threatened.
A hissing felldrake averages 7' in length, with another 4' of tail. They weigh between 450 and 500 pounds.

Combat: As befits their name, hissing felldrakes enter combat with a sound like an overworked steam engine. They generally focus on one enemy, grappling and subduing him before moving on to the next. They are tenacious fighters, reluctant to surrender the field even when they are losing.
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability a hissing felldrake must hit with a bite. If it gets a hold, it can rake.
Rake (Ex): If a hissing felldrake successfully grapples a foe it will rake it with its strong claws (4 attacks, attack bonus +4) for 1d4+1 points of damage each.
Surperior Grappler (Ex): A hissing felldrake is consummately skilled at grappling with and restraining its enemies. It is treated as one size larger than it actually is for purposes of grappling. Thus, a Medium hissing felldrake counts as a Large creature when grappling, gaining a +4 size bonus on grapple checks and the ability to grapple Huge creatures.
Tearing Bite (Ex): When grappling, a hissing felldrake's bite threatens a critical on 19-20 and deals triple damage rather than double.

Felldrake the Fourth:

Felldrake, Mottled
Medium Dragon
Hit Dice 4d12+4 (30 hp)
Initiative +3
Speed 30', climb 20'
AC 17 (+3 Dex, +4 natural), touch 13, flat-footed 14
Base Attack/Grapple +4/+6
Attack/Full Attack Bite +6 melee
Damage Bite 1d6+3
Space/Reach 5'/5'
Special Attacks Sneak attack +2d6
Special Qualities Reactive energy resistance, dragon traits
Saves Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +7
Abilities Str 14, Dex 17, Con 12, Int 8, Wis 17, Cha 11
Skills Climb +17, Hide +18, Listen +12, Move Silently +18, Spot +12
Feats Alertness, Stealthy
Environment Elven lands
Organization Solitary, pair, or pack (3-10)
Challenge Rating 3
Treasure None
Alignment Always neutral good
Advancement 5-12 HD (Medium)
Level Adjustment +3

The tree stump beside you moves, and you realize it is a man-sized reptilian creature. Its scales shift their color as the creature moves, extending its draconic head and baring sharp fangs.

Mottled felldrakes are stealthy and sly. They protect the elven lands by spying upon their foes and sneaking into enemy camps to perform sneak attacks. Their chameleon powers make them admirably suited to this task, but also enhances their ability to perform the countless tricks and pranks that amuse them.
Mottled felldrakes average 5' in length, with a weight of about 180 pounds. Their tiny scales are usually some shade of brown or green, and their eyes are jet-black.

Combat: Mottled felldrakes prefer to attack from ambush, often fleeing if they are discovered before they can strike. They often operate in pairs or packs, and are not above exposing one of their number to lead the foe into an ambush. In battle they attempt to flank and take down tough foes quickly.
Reactive Energy Resistance (Ex): The ability of the mottled felldrake to change its scale color does more than simply grant it camouflage. Whenever a mottled felldrake is struck by an energy attack, it gains energy resistance 5 vs. the first attack to affect it that round. This energy resistance remains in effect for one full round; attacks by other energy types deal their normal damage. After one round the ability resets, and the next energy attack triggers it once more.
Sneak Attack (Ex): Any time a mottled felldrake strikes a foe that is either flat-footed or flanked, the felldrake deals an additional +2d6 points of damage. This ability has no effect on foes immune to critical hits.

Skills: Mottled felldrakes have a +6 racial bonus on Hide and Move Silently checks.

Advancement: Mottled felldrakes that advance by raciual hit dice (rather than class levels) increase their sneak attack damage by +1d6 at every even-numbered HD (+3d6 at 6 HD, +4d6 at 8 HD, etc).

A reptilian creature about the size of a pony advances. It resembles a small dragon, but it lacks wings or any sort of elaborate crest or horns. Its scales are a rainbow of glittering metallic hues, from copper to silver. Translucent, crystalline spiked protrude along the length of its spine, and its eyes glitter like blue crystals.

Sparkling felldrakes embody the elven fascination and skill with magic. They are beings of magic, and they exist to lend their support to elven spellcasters and protect important magical sites.
These felldrakes average 6'-7' in length and stand 4' at the shoulder. They weigh about 220 pounds. Their small scales are all the metallic hues, and their eyes are crystalline blue.
Sparkling felldrakes speak Elven and Draconic.

Combat: Sparkling felldrakes fight best from behind a line of warriors. They often attach themselves to an elven spellcaster, supporting and defending him as necessary. If protecting a magical site or important personage, they fight to the death.
Absorb Spells (Su): If a targeted spell (not an area-effect spell) fails to overcome the sparkling felldrake's spell resistance, the felldrake absorbs the magical energy without harmful effect. This causes the felldrake's spines to glow brightly until the energy is released. The felldrake can choose to expend the magical energy harmlessly, as light (a full-round action) or use it to power its dweomerblast or spell healing abilities.
If not used, stored magical energy fades away without effect after 1 minute. A sparkling felldrake cannot absorb more spell levels than 2 per HD (8 for a normal sparkling felldrake); any spells beyond that that would normally be absorbed have no effect.
When used, a sparkling felldrake must use all its stored energy in one blast; it cannot use a partial charge. A felldrake that has absorbed 8 levels of spells must use all 8 levels in a single dweomerblast or healing.
Arcane Vision (Su): A sparkling felldrake perceives the world as if under the effects of a permanent arcane sight effect. This cannot be dispelled, but is defeated by antimagic field.
Dweomerblast (Su): If a sparkling felldrake has absorbed magical energy using its absorb spells ability, it can choose to blast its foes with this energy. This takes the form of a line of sparkling energy emanating from the felldrake's eyes; it deals damage equal to 1d6 per spell level with a Reflex save for half damage (DC 12 + spell level; the save DC is Charisma-based). The damage is of no particular energy type, even if the original spell was. For example, if a sparkling felldrake successfully absorbs a cause critical wounds spell it could channel that energy into a 4d6-damage dweomerblast with a save DC of 16.
Spell Healing (Su): If a sparkling felldrake has absorbed magical energy using its absorb spells ability, it can choose to use that energy to heal itself or a touched creature. The felldrake expends its stored magical energy, healing 1d6 points of damage per spell level. Hit points healed in excess of the subject's normal maximum are lost. If used on an unwilling target, the target is allowed a Will save (DC 12+ spell level) to halve the effect; the save DC is Charisma-based.
Spell-like Abilities: At will: ghost sound, mage hand. 3/day--color spray, daze monster, hypnotic pattern, minor image, obscuring mist; 1/day--dispel magic, glitterdust. Caster level 6th; save DC 12+spell level. The save DCs are Charisma-based.

Felldrake the Sixth:

The creature resembles a reptillian toad. It is only three feet high, but at least five feet across and its scales are a shiny chestnut. Ebony spines protrude along its backbone and at the joints of its legs.

Spined felldrakes exist to do what the elves traditionally do not: hold the line. While elven (and felldrake) combat tactics often focus on mobility, sometimes there is a location than simply cannot be abandoned. This is when the spined felldrakes enter the picture, forming an unbreakable line of dragonscales and spines between the enemy and their target.
Spined felldrakes are approximately 3' tall, 5' broad, and 6' long. They weigh about 500 pounds.

Combat: Spined felldrakes prefer to let the enemy come to them. Once they dig their claws in, they are as hard to move as a tree.
Defensive Strike (Ex): If a creature the spined felldrake threatens makes a melee attack against a creature other than the felldrake, the felldrake may make an attack of opportunity against the attacker.
Spines (Ex): Sharp black spines protrude from a spined felldrake's joints and backbone. Any creature striking the felldrake with an unarmed strike or natural attack takes 1d6+2 points of piercing damage. Anyone grappling with the felldrake takes 2d6+4 points of piercing damage each round the grapple is maintained.
Stable Footing (Ex): As a free action, a spined felldrake may sink its claws into the ground. The felldrake cannot be tripped or otherwise knocked prone, and it gains a +8 competence bonus on the opposed Strength roll to resist a bull rush or overrun. However, while using this ability, a spined felldrake cannot make claw attacks.

Felldrake the Seventh:

Felldrake, Trumpeting
Medium Dragon
Hit Dice 3d12+3 (35 hp)
Initiative +2
Speed 30'
AC 16 (+2 Dex, +4 natural), touch 12, flat-footed 14

Advancement 4-9 HD (Medium)
Level Adjustment +3

A five-foot-tall reptillian creature regards you with intelligent eyes. It stands upright on strong hind legs, its small forelegs held close to its chest. Its scales are dull blue with streaks of yellow, and its nostrils are unusually large and flaring.

Trumpeting felldrakes could only come into existance with elves involved. These graceful creatures have transmuted the traditional dragon's roar into something quite different--music resembling woodwinds. They act as support troops in battle, aiding others with their musical abilities and occasionally leaping in for a nip here or there.
A trumpeting felldrake stands about 5' tall and weighs 100 pounds or less.

Combat: Trumpeting felldrakes avoid combat; they are much less adept at it than the other varieties of felldrake. They act to support elves and other felldrakes, relying on their special abilities to get them out of trouble.
Keen (Ex): A trumpeting felldrake can emit a sound similar to fingernails scratching slate, pitched so high as to shatter glass. This takes the form of a 30' cone, and deals 3d6 points of sonic damage to all within in (Reflex DC 12 for half damage). Crystalline creatures and objects take double damage from this effect. Once it keens, a trumpeting felldrake cannot use any of its special abilities for 1d4 rounds. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Roar (Ex): If necessary, a trumpeting felldrake can utter a deafening roar that can be heard half a mile away, and has the potential to stun enemies. This takes the effect of a 30' cone; victims must make a Fortitude save (DC 12) or be stunned for 1d3 rounds. Once it roars, a trumpeting felldrake cannot use any of its special abilities for 1d4 rouds. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Trumpet (Ex): A trumpeting felldrake can inspire courage as a 3rd-level bard. This is identical to the bard ability "inspire courage," except that the trumpeting felldrake cannot attack while trumpeting (its mouth is required to make the music). Likewise, a trumpeting felldrake cannot continue to trumpet while it keens or roars.

Skills: Trumpeting felldrakes have a +4 racial bonus on Listen checks.

Felldrake the Seventh:

Felldrake, Bladed
Large Dragon
Hit Dice 8d12+16 (68 hp)
Initiative +3
Speed 40'
AC 20 (-1 size, +3 Dex, +8 natural), touch 12, flat-footed 17
Base Attack/Grapple +8/+16
Attack Bite +11 melee or tail slash +11 melee
Full Attack Bite +11 melee and 2 claws +9 melee and tail slash +9 melee
Damage Bite 1d8+5, claw 1d6+2, tail slash 1d10+5/18-20
Space/Reach 10'/10' (15' w/tail)
Special Attacks Blades, frenzied charge, pounce
Special Qualities Dragon traits, fearless, mighty tail
Saves Fort +8, Ref +9, Will +7
Abilities Str 21, Dex 17, Con 14, Int 9, Wis 12, Cha 12
Skills Balance +14, Jump +20, Listen +12, Spot +12, Tumble +14
Feats Combat Reflexes, Multiattack, Powerful Charge
Environment Elven lands
Organization Solitary, pair or hunt (3-6)
Challenge Rating 9

Alignment Always neutral good
Advancement 9-14 HD (Large), 15-24 HD (Huge)
Level Adjustment +4

The creature resembles a wingless dragon the size of a horse. Its scales are the color of burnished steel, washed with emerald green. From its spine, the joints on its limbs, and assorted other places protrude large, bladelike scales the size of large knife-blades. It turns to regard you, its long tail lashing, and you can see a blade the size of a broadsword at the tip of that tail.

Rare and deadly, bladed felldrakes are elite warriors who defend their elven allies with grace and fury. Among the larger breeds, they operate as one-felldrake war units, utilizing their superior manuverability and combat prowess to sow despair in the enemies of the elves. They sometimes lead companies of lesser felldrakes, but usually defer to elven warleaders.
A bladed felldrake's distinguishing feature is the dozens of bladelike scales that dot its body. When relaxed, these scales lie flat like the rest of its scales; however, when it is agitated, the felldrake's blade-scales protrude at right-angles to its body. These scales are hard as steel and sharp as an elven blade.
Bladed felldrakes average 5' at the shoulder and 10' in length. They weigh about 800 pounds.

Combat: Bladed felldrakes are canny combatants, focusing their skills where they are the most devestating. They prefer to use their superior mobility to bypass the first rank of the enemy, wreaking destruction on unguarded spellcasters and relying on their armor and agility to get back out. On rare occasions, a bladed felldrake will allow itself to be ridden (only by an elven warleader, using a specially-designed saddle).
Blades (Ex): A bladed felldrake's blades are considered in all ways equal to armor spikes (damage 1d8).
Fearless (Ex): Bladed felldrakes are utterly immune to all fear and fear-based effects, magical or mundane.
Frenzied Charge (Ex): If a bladed felldrake makes a charge attack, all creatures within 5' of the felldrake's path may be subject to damage from the felldrake's slashing blades and lashing tail. All creatures in the affected area must make Reflex saves (DC 17) or take 1d6+5 points of slashing damage. The save DC is Dexterity-based; note that the felldrake cannot choose to affect some targets and not others. If the felldrake opts to use frenzied charge, all targets are affected.
A bladed felldrake cannot use the Tumble skill while making a frenzied charge.
Mighty Tail (Ex): A bladed felldrake's tail slash adds 150% of the felldrake's Strength bonus and has a critical threat range of 18-20.
Pounce (Ex): If a bladed felldrake charges, it can make a full attack at the end of the charge.

You inversed the Int and Con scores.

An evil felldrake, huh ? This is quite hard to believe. If Bahamut knew about this creature, he would come down by himself and irraticate the drow clans.

Mecanically, the creature looks good, I would have expect a drow-like name to hide the dragon's true nature. Just my 2 cents.

Good job though

D'oh! Fixed.

I imagine, if he finds out, Bahamut will hate the drow...well...can he hate them any more than he already does? Besides, just about any good creature in D&D can be corrupted into an evil version of itself.

I would have expect a drow-like name to hide the dragon's true nature. Just my 2 cents.

Hmm...have to look over my drow wordlist. I guess "deep felldrake" is what surface-dwellers who encounter them call 'em.

Good job though

Thanks!

Cool! I really enjoy the imagery, and you could almost base an entire adventure around their story line. Couple thoughts real quick:

Slashing Tail (Ex): A deep felldrake's tail is covered with razor-sharp scales, with which it can slash a foe viciously. Any living creature struck by a deep felldrake's tail must make a Fortitude save (DC 14) or suffer a bleeding wound, losing 1 hp per round until the wound is healed or bound. This ability has no effect on creatures without blood, or any creature immune to critical hits The save DC is Constitution-based
I like this ability, but I'm not sure if it should allow a save. No other creature I know of with a wounding type ability allows for one.

My other thought, c'mon black scales, sneaky demeanor....this guy pratically screams "Gimmie a hide bonus!!! I wanna be sneakier!!" So, be a pal and listen to your buddy! :D

I look forward to the rest of these guys.

Done. BTW, I've come up with an alternate name using the Drow language.

Looks good, only thing I can really say mechanics wise is ya oughta put down that it has a pretty dang good Hide, for being tiny and it's 20 Dex it's got a +13. Also, I think you should give this little dude Weapon Finesse (B). Other than that looks good

For some reason it reminds me of the little dragon from Mulan. Never actually seen the movie though. Heh, anyway cool little drake. I really like the description, gave me a very good mental picture of him. 2 down 4 to go.

I like your feathered felldrake, although I would change the description from "a tiny wyvern" to "a tiny coualt", which is relatively closer. You should put some rules about having this felldrake as a familiar.

One more thing:
Feathered felldrakes, the only winged variety of felldrake, are messengers and scouts. With a personality somewhat like that of a small child, feathered felldrakes are nonetheless focused and determined messengers.
Feathered felldrakes average 2' in length and weight about 10 pounds.Only ? not really. No offense, but I beat you to it with my platinum felldrake (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=555207) back in December concerning winged felldrakes. :P

Just kidding, man. I was just pointing that one of my homebrewed felldrakes is winged. And if you like felldrakes, you might want to take a look at my creations.

- Platinum felldrake (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=555207): a felldrake that looks like an Aspect of Bahamut in appearance and power.
- War felldrake (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=598468): a huge horned felldrake that doubles as a massive battering ram.

I like your feathered felldrake, although I would change the description from "a tiny wyvern" to "a tiny coualt", which is relatively closer.

Well...a couatl is basically a winged snake, wheras a wyvern is a two-legged dragon. I envision this creature as being more like a tiny, feathered wyvern than a tiny, legged couatl.

You should put some rules about having this felldrake as a familiar.

Good thought! I like variant familiars. What caster level d'ya think, 3rd?

Only ? not really. No offense, but I beat you to it with my platinum felldrake back in December concerning winged felldrakes.

Fair enough. When I made it, it was the only winged felldrake that I knew of. :pbbbtt:

Well, that one is good, although I would add 2 claw attacks. It's a bit weird to get a raking monster without fore claws. but that's just me.

Would it be okay to add a climb speed ? to represent the python aspect of the felldrake ?

Otherwise, your felldrake is good.

Hmm...good thought. My basic concept is that its bite is the primary weapon, and the claws only come into play once the victim is grappled. Howe about four rake attacks instead of two?

Allright, after much effort ( :censored: computers!) I have managed to get another felldrake accessable. The good news is that, in the interim, I've come up with two more. Enjoy.

If I were you, I would change the sneak attack to sudden strike (like the ninja class ability) it is very similar, but slightly less powerful.

Am I allowed to post details about sudden strike?

Because felldrakes have 4 limbs and couatls have 2

The key flaw in your argument seems to be the definition of the word "resembles". It doesn't have to look EXACTLY like a Couatl. At any rate, it's a much more fitting description than tiny wyvern.

Uh-huh. Tiny, colorful, feathered, and long-necked. Real concise.

Aaaanyway. I absolutely LOVE the Sparkling Felldrake, but Grease seems out of place as a spell-like ability. The rest of his stuff is related to illusions or subtle, non-combat magics... and then he can create huge gobs of grease. I understand that it solidifies his support role, but it just seems like the wrong spell for his flavor.

Not sure whether you should post details, but I'm familiar with sudden strike anyway. I deliberately avoided that, however, to make the mottled felldrake a slightly tougher combatant. Even so, if you can avoid being flanked it's a moot point.

Good point. I was looking at the mechanics of grease, and overlooked the flavor. How about daze monster?

And no more debate! I think my description of the feathered felldrake sums it up. Two-legged, serpentine, feathered.

Thanks all.

Love your final work Talisman.

Although it's wierd that with all the spines the felldrake possesses, it does not have claw attacks. You could add two claws, but being unable to use them while being stable.

Aside form that, it's all good.

Perhaps you could take all of your felldrakes, edit your first post and put them there. It's easier that way if you want a single post to copy and print.

Your trumpeting felldrake looks good, yet I have a question: Does the keen ability have a special effect against crystalline creatures and objects, like the shatter and shout spells ?

Aside from that, it's all good.

You should go with a much larger scale (Huge or larger) for your next felldrake (I see it was the 7th out of 8). We need some heavy-hitters around here, not just small pet-sized creatures (no offense there man)

Very good question. It should. How about +50% damage to such creatures?

No offense taken; I was spinning out ideas based on what little I know of felldrakes (from the MM2). Felldrake the 8th is the Large-sized and battle-focused Bladed Felldrake. Coming soon...to an elven wood near you!

Ouch... that last felldrake hurts.

I think you should increase the CR by 1, seems very powerful to me for a CR 8. I mean, it can hurt everyone in its path when charging and go postal on one last target with all its attacks using pounce. That's overkill.

I think you should also add a special rule when riding such a creature. If you have the MMIII, go to the Bloodstriker Dinosaur entry and check the "Training a bloodstriker" part. I mean, riding improperly this felldrake might resulted in bloodshed... for the rider, as the bladed scales can hurt the rider.

Aside from that, it's all good.

CR bumped to 9. Maybe I should add text to the effect that it can't combine Frenzied Charge with Pounce? After all, Pounce is all about getting to one guy and Cusinarting him, while Frenzied Charge is more about flailing away madly at everyone you can reach as you go by.

I will check my MM3, but I believe you're right...riding something with blades has to be tricky.
