I need to find stats for a Ferret as an animal companion. I can't find this anywhere, and the closest thing I could find is a weasel--so maybe I should use that??

Thanks in advance.

I would just use the weasal stats. You could modify the skills and feats though. For instance, I think it would make more sense for a ferret to have dodge or something instead of latch, but that's just me.

That's what I was thinking of doing.

In my learned opinion, (I own two ferrets, used to be three, but...) you should use weasel stats, but remove the attach option and increase the speed to 30 ft., and keep climb at 20 ft.

Change stats as follows:
Str: from 3 to 2; Dex: from 15 to 16; Con: from 10 to 8; Int: from 2 to 3; Wis: from 12 to 14; Cha: from 5 to 6.

This shows that ferrets are not as strong or tough, but faster and smarter. If my ferret was as strong as a weasel, I would still have 3.

IInt: from 2 to 3;

Animals can't have 3 int, it would mean thay are sentient.

Possibly give them a +1 to spot (shiny object).

All animals are sentient. You're thinking of sapience.

You might want to give them a racial bonus to escape artist, which could partially transfer over to the wizard/sorcerer. They are really good at escaping, far better than hamsters, or gerbils, or guinea pigs, or most mammals. Although their speed might have something to do with this.

If you're going animal companion, wait a few levels and convince your DM to change the dire weasel to a dire ferret. heheh, imagine what all HE could hide.
