As we all readers of the Fiend Folio know, a fiend of corruption is a prestige class which allows evil outsiders to corrupt mortals and gain their souls. However, with the release of Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells, a new system of selling one's immortal soul to the evil spirits of the Lower Planes has seen daylight. Are they actually compatible or are they mutually exclusive?

For example, a harvester devil fiend of corruption would make perfect sense - but is there any reason, ruleswise, for the devil to adapt the said prestige class anymore since now the infernal powers can grant mortals' desires without the prestige class? Or does the PrC's abilities make better sense in luring a mortal into signing an agreement with the insidious creature and the FC II's soul trade rules kick in at this point?

I'm not familiar with the PrC in question, though I would venture to guess that it gives the baatezu an alternative, and possibly less labour-intensive method of acquiring souls.
