does it depend on the dragon type or age category?

07-11-06, 07:59 AM True dragons do not have the Swallow Whole ability. They prefer to chew their food thoroughly first. Thus, you shouldn't have ended up in there in the first place.

I suppose, like whales, they have much narrower throats than their size would suggest.

07-11-06, 08:15 AM If the dragon has the Snatch and Swallow feat (http://realmshelps.dandello.net/cgi-bin/feats.pl?Snatch_And_Swallow,Dr) from the Draconimicon they can swallow their prey.

Either way, reguardless of the age category just go by the standard rulings for swallowing:

"The Armor Class of the interior of a creature that swallows whole is normally 10 + 1/2 its natural armor bonus, with no modifiers for size or Dexterity."
