| StrahdVonZarovich07-27-06, 04:23 AM | Hello all. I got a slight problem with firbolg, see I'm trying to make an NPC for a campaign that I'm currently working on. But as they describes him in the MMII they're not mentioning anything besides the ECL. The update-booklet doesn't either too much, asides from mentioning its LA, it doesn't mention anything else about it. No explanations on how their racial skills, how d othey gain racial abilities of their owns, do they have some bonus hit-die as monsters have, and whatever else is usually mentionned in a racial entry of a new race. So, anyone can help with this ? It'd be really appreciated ! Thanks in advance. |

The results are your ability modifiers. Look in the entry for the Firbolg, you will see a number of HD there. Those are it's racial HD. Not too sure on skills--I've never worried too much about those--but for feats, you get a number of feats equal to the HD / 3. See the monster entry for all other racial abilities. |

| Armoracia Rusticana07-28-06, 02:40 PM | Skills gained are based on its racial HDs (check Giant type in MM or SRD). (3+HDs)*(2+INT modifier, as I call wildly). Racial skills can be found where I have mentioned, can't rememder by now. Number of feats is equal to HD/3, round down, +1. Enjoy. |
| StrahdVonZarovich07-28-06, 08:51 PM | Thanks to you as well Armoracia Rusticana for these informations. |
| Khalarak Ironclaw07-30-06, 02:30 AM | Dude, next time just check the glossary and appendices of the MM 3.5. It has most of the information you need, and the DMG has the rest. MM p. 310, the Giant Type entry: BAB equal to 3/4 HD, Fort saves equal to 2+one-half the creatures HD+Con mod, Ref and Will saves equal to one-third HD+the relevant ability mod. Skill points equal to 2+int mod per hit die, with quadruple skill points for the first Hit Die. Proficient with all simple and martial weapons... I'm pretty sure that's almost all the information you needed. And the information on determining ability modifiers is present in the DMG (I'd cite the page but I don't have my book with me at the moment). Good luck with your campaign, I've been wanting to use Firbolgs for a while but never had the chance. |
| StrahdVonZarovich07-30-06, 12:56 PM | Thanks for the info concerning the MM and the DMG, and yes I should have chk-it out sooner, I just din't think about it at that moment. |
| Golem01107-30-06, 04:30 PM | The MM has everything you'll ever need to work out the Firbolg as a race under the glossary/create your own monster sections, yes. You may also need the PHB. But really, to add class levels onto a Firbolg, you don't NEED to know it as a race. Just increase BAB, abilities, feats, skills etc by hit die (level) added. |
