Kn1ves 07-25-07, 05:03 PM	I saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire the other day. Now I'm normally one to shun ideas from movies, anime and tv in any game I'm playing in but I just can't get the image of a palm sized dragon to tote around with you out of my head. I realize in the movie they were illusions but I just can't help think my Raptorian Beguiler could benefit from a tiny dragon to help him scout. I was originally planning on catching or buying and training a mouse to help me out but this just seems so much more fun. My problem is that the smallest dragons I can find are tiny and get bigger. Is there anyway to stunt the growth process of a wyrmling dragon or are there any dragons that start out fine sized?
Morwen 07-25-07, 05:12 PM	Pseudodragon (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/pseudodragon.htm) is Tiny and doesn't get any bigger. Spiretop Dragon, from Eberron's Sharn - City of Towers book is also Tiny. I couldn't find any Fine ones, though.

Fireclave 07-25-07, 05:31 PM	A Pseudodragon affected by a permanent Reduce Person spell(or two). Reduce Person only affects humanoids, not dragons. And multiple casting of the spell, even if made permanent, would not stack.
Kesthol 07-25-07, 08:09 PM	Other than permanent Reduce Person, A Wish or Miracle might do the trick. So might any of the illusion/shadow spells... if you can desribe, it can be "made". But other than that, it'll be up to you and/or your DM to make.
Orchomenos 07-26-07, 09:44 AM	Half-Dragon Bat would be Diminutive. And just craft a spell called Reduce Dragon, which mimic Reduce Person, but apply to dragons.
Sorcen_Anenooata 07-26-07, 12:01 PM	Reduce Dragon Transmutation Level: Sor/Wiz 1 Components: V, S, M Casting Time: 1 round Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels) Target: One dragon Duration: 1 min./level (D) Saving Throw: Fortitude negates Spell Resistance: Yes This spell causes instant diminution of a dragon, halving its height, length, and width and dividing its weight by 8. This decrease changes the creature’s size category to the next smaller one. The target gains a +2 size bonus to Dexterity, a -2 size penalty to Strength (to a minimum of 1), and a +1 bonus on attack rolls and AC due to its reduced size. A Small dragon whose size decreases to Tiny has a space of 2½ feet and a natural reach of 0 feet (meaning that it must enter an opponent’s square to attack). A Large dragon whose size decreases to Medium has a space of 5 feet and a natural reach of 5 feet. This spell doesn’t change the target’s speed. All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly reduced by the spell. Melee and projectile weapons deal less damage. Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any reduced item that leaves the reduced creature’s possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown weapons deal their normal damage (projectiles deal damage based on the size of the weapon that fired them). Multiple magical effects that reduce size do stack. Reduce dragon can be made permanent with a permanency spell. Material Component A pinch of powdered iron. There ya go, theres the new spell. My reasoning for making this spell stack was so that you can use this spell to shrink the really big dragons down to the smallest sizes. Feel free to change it as you like.
