| Cerebremancer09-22-06, 05:56 PM | I thought I read a rule somewhere once about having multiple elemental subtypes. Does anyone know if there is such a rule and where I can find it? If not, does anyone know how that works? Thanks! |
| Lord_Gareth09-22-06, 05:59 PM | I'm pretty sure you can, but not opposite ones. A person with Fire and Cold would convert to energy and cause a nuclear reaction :) |
| Salla09-22-06, 10:50 PM | As far as I know, if you successfully (and legally) have the Cold and Fire subtypes, you basically have Cold and Fire Immunity, because the extra 150% damage you'd take from Fire or Cold get negated by the opposite type's immunity. |
| Dragon309-22-06, 10:55 PM | There's the Searing Spell metamagic. Half damage to fire immune foe and since ya got fire vulnerability as well ooh. |
| Tekas_Tinkered_Dragon09-22-06, 11:11 PM | It wouldn't make sense to have the subtypes both derived from Template or Race however for a Cold Subtype monster to pick up a ring that gives them the Fire Subtype that would be perfectly reasonable since its a magical derivative. However I think it costs more then just getting a Ring of Fire Immunity anyways. |
| Sildatorak09-25-06, 01:27 AM | There are already monsters that have multiple elemental subtypes (the Omnimental from MMIII springs to mind), though I don't know of any that are specifically [Fire] and [Cold] off the top of my head. It would be an odd monster, to say the least, and probably the result of some strange breeding and the subsequent inheritted templates. |
