Toloran 03-20-08, 03:12 PM	I need help finding a template that grants fire resistance (not a lot, just a little bit) and doesn't have more then a +1 CR adjustment. I did several searches of the forum but the only good one I found was the one by JiCi and that was a little too extensive for me (I didn't want something that gave that many abilities and added that much CR at higher HD). If no one has a good template, can anyone give me a good idea of how much of a CR adjustment adding a simple 5 Fire Resistance to a monster would be? (With a comparable weakness perhaps). I'd make my own template but I'm not good at balancing them :3

If the creature in question is over 7 HD, you could maybe just treat it as 7 HD in regard to the template abilities.
Rederik 03-27-08, 04:33 PM	A think a few questions are in order... 1. What is the current CR of the critter? 2. How much will fire resistence affect the party? 3. Is there a flavor reason to why the critter has fire resistence? First, CR matters because if it is high enough, tacking on Fire Resis 5 could be inconsequencal... Example... I CR 10-15 monster with FR 5, just doesn't affect it that much... A CR 1-2, would probably be more affective with that *if* Second, how much fire does your party have? Do they throw fireworks around like the 4th of July? is it random? If they use fire alot, it starts to be worth more... Finally, what is the flavore reason for the Fire Resistance? Don't just slap a random template on the critter just because it has FR... I would rather see a FR 5 added to an exsisting monster to flesh it out then adding a template that doesn't fit... If you give us an idea of the monster in question and the party, we can tell you if FR 5 is even worth anything...
