A stellar burnth appears as a swirling form of ashes, in which vague shapes of humanoid images and skulls can be seen.

A stellar burnth is an undead creature formed from deep-space explosions, there bodies suddenly cremated and infused with negative energy. The more killed in an explosion in close proximity, and the more powerful those individuals, the larger the burnth is. Stellar burnths tend to be hateful and confused, hatefully lashing out with blind rage but sparing those who were loved ones in life. Some can organize themselves to be less dissorganized and/or more benevolent.

Inferno(su): Once per day a stellar burnth can turn into a swirling miasma of firey death. This takes the form of a 20ft diameter circle centered on its location (+10ft per size class increase). It lasts for 1d4 rounds, and creatures within its area take 1d8+1 fire damage and are blinded for the duration (reflex save dc:14 (dex based and +2 racial bonus to dc)) negates blinding and halves the damage. After doing this it is effectively fatigued for two rounds.

Steam Vulnerability(su): The touch of steam causes a stellar burnth 1d12+1 damage, and forces it to make a fortitude save dc:15 or be stunned for one round. A stellar burnth cannot willingly enter a steam cloud, hot water, or even a steamy room such as a sweat room.

I'm not the person to ask for opinions on stats (unless something is rediculously overpowered)
But i DO have a few things to say.

*Ahem*
THE BURNING DEAD FROM OUTER SPACE SHALL DESTROY US ALL. THEY LAY THEIR SPAWN-EGGS IN OUR SPLEENS AND THEY SHALL EAT OUR SOULS.

Okay, now that thats out of the way.

What the hell are undead doing in space? How can they burn in space? Why are they hatefull?
And technically, anything that comes from outer space is 'hot' as in the sense of if you stand near it, your teeth and hair fall out and you develop cancer from the HORRIBLE LEVELS OF RADIATION that accumulate in space.

Undead occur where people die. Space can be dangerous.

Let's say a space-ship explodes, there's a firey burst as the air within provides enough oxygen for a brief reaction of firey death. I also think that, as a void/vaccum dominant area, and with enough ambient cosmic energies, there will be some negative energy currents to allow undead to form.
It doesn't burn anymore in the normal sense, it is burnt, it is tied to the quasielemental forces of ash.

They are hateful because they are in a teniable state with their minds jumbled and uncomfortably disjointed, often mixed in with the conflicting thoughts, personalities, and memories of others who died in the same blast, so they angrily and blindly lash out.

This thing forms from those ashen remains. It's for use in a spelljammer type environment, or a special plane I designed. I really don't care that much about practical application, I just got an idea and wanted to stat it.

It's not going to be any more or less radioactive than something from space could be assumed to be. There's no rules for cosmic radiation, so I leave that part blank for any space radiation houserules to be applied.

o_O ....interesting creature you have here, Read my glowing, claw-like finger. It would be fun to pick (or maybe eat) your brain and find out where you get all your good inspirations from. Is it from eating those radioactive deer?

Anyway, I think it's a good monster. It doesn't seem to powerful for CR 1. And having that damage reduction actually makes it a challenge because without it, most characters but a straight mage could probably kill this guy with a single hit. I take it you are playing 3.0 with that kind of DR?

My one question is from where is the +3 Hp coming from? If you were using Cha mod, it would only be +2. So that's the only thing that has me a bit confused.

The extra HP is because for some reason I thought it had the toughness feat. >.o
I've fixed that now.

Technically I'm using Pi edition, using whichever rules make the most sense to me, so that haste isn't broken, but a halfing can still weild a shortsword as a normal weapon instead of having to use a small longsword.

I just get ideas a lot. In this case, I think I was watching farscape and pondering the idea of undead from outer space. Out of that line of thought I concieved the Voidborne and these creatures. I don't eat the deers because I'm a vegetarian.

Well, I must say that your idea is a good one. Now, as far as applying it to a D&D game is concerned, Spelljammer seems the only solution. I can imagine the suprise of the party that is cruising through Greyspace, only to find themselves ambushed by a horde of burning, deep space undead! That would be a marvelous encounter, and next time I play Spelljammer (or maybe even sooner) I'll try to incorporate it into my campaigns. Good work on the good quality idea.

Another great monster, Mr. Finger! :D
This once again shows your extremely warped* imagination.

*And warped=good.
